Air Canada's (possible) new long-haul destinations..

Post by MSYYZ »

Hi , i came across this news on AC website but unfortunately the link is no longer working.
It was talking about (possible) new long haul destinations for AC , and the list included :
Karachi/Pakistan , Cairo/Egypt , Dubai/UAE , Athens/Greece , Casablanca/Morroco , Nice/France?!! , Beirut/Lebanon ( this last route to Lebanon was going to be launched 3 years ago and AC announced the flight schedule but at the last moment it was cancelled for political reasons ) .

Was BRU also not mentioned on that list?

...not sure if you are referring to this document but yes, BRU is mentioned (p. 35).

Do not forget that this is only a wish list though. Some destinations are for real (YUL-GVA/BRU) but others make not sense under current circumstances (THR, BEY, etc).

I guess it all depends if the Pilot's union gives the green light to the B777 / 787 deal . AC doesn't have enough long-haul Aircraft to operate these routes , if ever.

And thanks for correcting me SR89 :D
