Good spotting places at EBBR?

Post by larezz »

Hi everyone

I know this has to be a FAQ but i can't find answers in existing topics.
So here I am, wondering where I have to be and especially how to get there: a place for nice spotting.. The info doesn't help me any farther so are there any infos for me please? much appreciated! I'll go the 29th of october and I want to know where I can get nice pics?? I'm comming by train, arriving at EBBR railway station... ALL help welcome!!!

Thanks

well, if you arrive by train at the EBBR station, you will be restricted to the airport building area ; the Wingtips restaurant ore on the roof of the parking, the regular spots are all quit a long walk from there (apart maybe the Abelag area)
maybe it's better to get of the train at Nossegem, this will bring you relatively close to the "sandhill" and the "refuge center" spots, there's an other station that will bring you relatively close to the "watertoren" spot ; the best for 25L spotting, but i'm not sure of the name of that station (think it's Diegem :? ).
maybe other members have a better idea about the best trainstation : i never take the train to go spotting :wink:

The other station is Kortenberg not Diegem, as this would leave you the wrong side of "the Ring". From the station it is about a 10 minute walk up the hill to the 25L threshold.

Are you coming to BRU to just watch aircraft or do you intend to take photographs. If only looking then the terminal complex may well meet your needs. If you want decent piccies you need to be out where the action is, dependat upon wind direction and/or dispersion plans for the day

A good option, if you have to travel by train would be to bring your bike so that you can get around more easily.

Yes i'm coming to take photo's. I've been once but that was BORING because I only took pics from off the restaurant and from a place I walked too but can't remember where it was, I saw planes climbing up but it wasn't a very nice view.

I hope I will be able to see some better but the prob is nobody knows which rwy's will be in use then so i'll have to be lucky :)

thank you very much both, i'll try to reach the 25L via kortenberg!

Looks like 02 arrivals at 29th october??
Allthough that's what the baanverdelingsplan looks like..
29oct = saturday = week 43 = oneven week = 06-23u = 02 arrivals

don't rely on that "banenplan", it's no longer in use :wink:
better take a look at the meteo ; N and NE wind = 02, all the rest is 25L/R for 99% of the time :D
