I flew in a 767 last month and what I can say is that the interior is UGLY. It looks even older than the 732!!!the bins are tiny, the aircraft looks older than it is in reality!I saw pictures of other 767 and it was the same!
It is high time airlines refurbish their 767s with the new interior signature a la 777

Why would they do that? The cost of upgrading these machines would probably be prohibitive givn the life they have left. Many companies are phasing them out gradually over the next few years to be replaced by A330's, A350's and 787's. You want one with a new interior go on Continental.....but I wouldn;t fly on them just to get on a 767 with a new interior.
refurbishing planes is a low margin business. Who does a repaint job on its car just because some scratches?
But I think that Royal Brunei has just done a very well received refurbishment of its 767's.
Aha! So, fly RB in the future.
The 767-400 from Delta Airlines has a very nice interior, almost comparable with the 777.
So I guess you probably flew a "old" 767-200 type with indeed the old interior in it.
Still didn't mention which airline we are talking about here?
At a guess quite old looking. Not sure if they have put PTV's in them yet - or if they are going to. The interiors I remember were basically the same luggage bins etc. as the KLM 767's - the seats I can't recall.
The new-build 763ERs have the 777 style interiors, some kitted out with PTVs all through the cabin. Not sure from when they started benefitting from the new interiors though.

Is it possible to tell us which company you flew ?
Grtz,
I feel the need for airspeed!

Then you had the biggest chance to get the "old" 767-200 (as happened) since El Al only has one 767-300 in it's fleet.
The other six 767's are all the older 200 types.
5Y-KQV, do you mean BA? Do they normaly put the aircraft with PTVs on long haul or is it just chance as to which plane you get? Also, as we are flying on Christmas day on return, we might get an upgrade to buisness. do BA buisness class have ptvs on 767s? It is quite a long flight to the caymans.

I was speaking on 763ERs generally and not specifically to those in the BA fleet. A couple of KQ 763ERs (the new-build ones) are kitted with PTVs in every seat. Check out this pic: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/264880/L/
Sadly, I have never been on a BA 767 but if some of their 767 fleet were kitted with PTVs, I would imagine they would be deployed to either their longhaul or premium routes as per most carriers (this is just my opinion). I also would not know if their Business class are kitted with PTVs.
That is a nice cabin! We went to Kenya (Mombassa) on holiday once, on a Caledonian Tristar, horrible plane but lovely place! I would LOVE to go back one day!
