CO B767-400 parked @ ebbr after blowing up engine on t/o

Post by Skystef »

Again an "American plane" with some troubles, this time a Continental B767-400 is parked @ ebbr.
Short story: yesterday Oct. 11 during the t/o roll pilot felt "a vibration" & decided to abort. Apparent one of the engine is "a bit in pieces".
I guess also a bit luck for ebbr... remember the scene with the Concorde.

Ill fated machine is this N76054.

Well well well, i think those incidents are done express. I think that the american crews are appreciating Belguim an that's why they are doing that, so they can stay longer in Brussels  .

I hope i'm wrong :D

If it's going to be like that every week I think they'll avoid EBBR thinking that it is cursed
Just kidding!
It's really annoying for those companies when things like that happen, but for the Hotels and the airport it's actually quite good.
Then again, those planes do fly a lot and such things can happen, maybe he had a bird strike (see SNBA 330 @GOOY) lol :P .

Does anyone have pictures from the broken engine :?:
I suppose Sabena Technics is carrying out the repair/exchange works.

ciao,
TriStar :?

Maybe Sabena Technics started growing pheasants along 25R to get more engine repair business

It might be a set up by the CIA. After the probs during the Iraq crisis, they can blame Belgium to have connections with Al Qaida.

Maybe Bush can ask 80 000 000 $ at the Congress to bomb Sabena Technics ;)

Pre-emptive strike to avoid more engine troubles ;)
