Post by MrAirbus »

The below posted Reuters article mentions 772ER v A342. Do they
really mean A342??? They say they are not obliged to choose Boeing,
but it would seem very likely they will to me.

It is widely known that Israel makes great efforts to penetrate the european market with its high tech products - wich are supplied already to Boeing.
On the other hand, just wait and see.

I think this is just the fanatasy of one or other journalist there haven't been any A342's build in the last years and it's a lot smaller than A B772ER.

If the order is true, than it will be a boeing.

In sources which are not specialised in aviation, using wrong numbers in aircraft names is quite common. Probably the article means a newer A340 variant.

I also don't believe El AL buying Airbus.

A343 would be a very good alternative...

EL AL is one of the only airlines in the wolrd to have an all Boeing fleet and will continue to do so for the forseeable future. They may only be evaluating the Airbus in order to get discount from Boeing but in the end whatever aircraft will be ordered you can bet it will be Boeing.
