Virgin Express B737-300WL

Post by website-info »

Hi All,

I'm told that Virgin Express will fit winglets to their 737-300 fleet in the coming weeks, with the first aircraf to enter service in early November...

Also to confirm previous rumours, seems that the 3 SNBA A319's will begin operating VEX flights from November as well, with all seats sold by VEX.....

I think that would be suprising since SNBA needs it's A319 itself

About Sn flying VEX flights,at the end of November 2 B737-300 of VEX will be in maintenance
As all 10 aircraft are fully operated for the current VEX schedule;
A319 SN will be needed to operate some of VEX flights which are most of the time loaded with + 100 pax..

An Airbus is like a japanese car: it has all the goodies included, such as winglets.

Welcome to Luchtzak GORKI !

Will be nice to see some WL's on the VEX733's. I also heard the SN 319's would leave the fleet in the near future ...
Has this allready been confirmed or can this be confirmed ?

Matthias,

After a quick search: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/917332/L/

First 737-300WL program began in 2002 if I am right...

Wow it's nice to see that the VEX fleet will get some winglets. And if I'm correct VEX will be the second airline to operate B733's with winglets. The other being Air plus comet.

Great :)

Hi,

does anyone know how much it approx. costs to retrofit b733's with these winglets and how much fuel this saves the airline. I guess they calculated it at VEX...
Anyway...and this is just my opinion...actually I prefer to see those second generation B737's without winglets! :D

Does someone already know the registration of the first two planes which will get the blended winglets ?

BTW I'll need to fly VEX in the future again. !!! :)

I heard OO-VEX woud be the first to be retrofitted with the Winglets. Maybe someone else here can confirm this.

I hope i'm wrong ('cause winglets make otherwise dull 737's look sexy), but i find it hard to believe they're putting winglets on these oldies...
I have doubts about the economical viability....

I don't understand why Virgin is investing in this winglets. I truly believe they should start investing in renewing their fleet instead of keeping the planes.

But if they put winglets it means that they plan on keeping those 737 for a long time to come. I think at least they should also change then the interior of their fleet as this for the moment looks quite old fashioned and old.
