Hi,

I was planning a trip to BRU and LGG tomorrow, but would like to know if there are any DHL (BRU) and TNT (LGG) on deck. Do these two fly today, or are they all grounded? Because I don't like to travel to BRU and LGG and don't see any DHL and TNT. So if someone has any info.....

Thanks

BIAC says that flights are disrupted only by the fog, not by any strikes.

I suppose they wish to make up for people who changed their plans because it was uncertain whether they could fly. If I had planned a trip for today I would surely have cancelled it!

(actually, I DID cancel my planned trip - to my Brussels office...)
yes, and also for people who can only come to the airport by train, or for the people who want to avoid the traffic congestions of today.

Are these only the pax flights or also the cargo flights? I know about two SQ freighters ex BRU which we have today at SPL.

Since none of the Thalys trains from Brussels Midi to Paris CDG and v/v was running today, Air France organised four shuttle buses in each direction. The trip would take four hours, instead of 90 minutes by HST.

That's a nice solution. But wouldn't it be easier to organise shuttle flights if flights are not disrupted in BRU ? This would enable connecting pax to have their connection guranteed .....

@EHAM

For LGG, all our aircrafts of TNT are grounded for 24H

The Air France passengers leave from Brussels Midi, not Brussels airport!

Note that the delays at the airport today where caused by fog and not by the industrial actions.

The only thing I noticed is that they blocked staff-parkings (of which P59) so that it was difficult for workers to start their duty. They also blocked the roundabout at Brucargo.

Indeed, and I stood there. For once, I did my very best to come to work by bike (yes, Wezembeek --> Brucargo, in the cold, in the dark and in the fog...). I arrived at the moment when there were bringing out the metal fences...

Then, I tried via the SNBA-building, and the Delhaize, but there also, a lot of red could be seen (no, not Virgin Express ;-)). I desperately called my supervisor, and she told me to try via the entrance next to TCR...

Flightcare organized a little shuttle service for employees who were blocked. We had to meet at TCR, and there they'd pick us up. One problem: I was by bike. I was allowed to take it with me (in the van). Nice gesture of the Securair-man!

I had my problems too today, and I hope they will be the last ones... And if other strikes follow, I hope they let the people work who want to. Imagine I work at FC as a school project...

Yesterday (06/10), SQC decided to divert their flights to AMS, because of the uncertainty of getting good service in BRU. And they were right, because there weren't a lot of employees in the Aviapartner warehouse at work today.

Oh God I hate such strikes!

I tried to reach my school this morning (by bike) around 8.00 AM but this was quite difficult as ABVV-members were holding cars and cyclists, shouting, throwing little irritating 'explosives' and drinking beer so early in the morning.
