Just 'breaking news': Mellaerts is no longer director!

After a big mistake with the insurance on a flight to Basra (actually, there was no insurance), he took his consequences and left.

No more info online yet...

If this happened, not only Mr. Mellaerts but more people involved made a ,, big ,, mistake ! !

Before starting any serious discussions on this issue, better wait until confirmed news/statement if this happened or not (although where you have some smoke, their must be some fire .....).

Awaiting further news ....

Just saw the item as well in the TV news (19h00) with a picture, faced on Mr. Mellaerts.
Personally, I disagree with Mr. Mellaerts resigning ..... as mentioned in my previous message, lot of more responsible persons with the airline company should take-up their responsability as well.
Before a ,, special ,, flight is taking off, lot of preparation is to be done and the entire file passes through a lot of hands before the a/c get's airborne.
To be short ..... lot of people should have remarked the anomalie!
All these people should have taken up or should take up their responsability now .......
Don't shoot on the pianist but on all those not having taking up their duty.
It's easy to blame someone, certainly if you are not loved within a cy.

Anyway, hopes SLR will continue their nice job .... can't imagine another peace of nostalgie of Belgian Aviation would dissapear.

I read in newspaper l'Echo there will be a councel meeting tuesday evening 14 october on which Vastapane hopes to find solutions (= seek & find a partner) to save Sobelairs future.
To be continued within a couple of days i suppose.
