EBBR 2005 Update: Ground textures

Post by tommeke84 »

Hi all,

maybe not all of you are aware of this, but some guys are creating a new Brussels scenery for FS2004 (only!).

You can find the first announcment here:
http://www.bsprojects.be/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3

Allright... time for a few more screenshots.

Major work that has been done are the taxilines and gatemarkings.
Concrete texture for the apron:

And finally 25R:

Still lots of work to do. We'll keep you guys updated when we feel that there's the need to do so!

Hi,

Extra info: the framerates are still excellent (~=28 fps @ 1024*768*32) on my pc (AMD64 3500+, 1024MB, GF4 Ti4400 128MB). I know this is not the slowest pc on the market, but the graphics card is already quite old, but it doesn't affect performance as far as I can see.

@Airbus_fan:
September will be difficult, because we still have a lot of work to do and we've had some problems with the ground etc... So it will be a little bit later.

@moons:
This scenery is a very good reason to upgrade then ;)

The scenery looks absolutely stunning, certainly as good as payware scenery.
Not sure if it has already been asked or not, but will the gates move towards the airplane and will we have gate approaching signage?

@russianboy:
8O Ask every belgian flight simmer/spotter/aviation enthousiast and you'll know what's so special about ebbr.

And Vital has been working hard again and here is the 'better' result of the EBBR apron

I have a picture I took on July 23rd out of the window of an Iberian A320 while we were pushing back from stand 145 all the way back across R4 to taxiway S. It is taken at about the same place of your screenshot Thomas.

What a crap request! Robert Buysen's EBBR was created quit some time ago so obviously it's not perfect! But instead of making such a silly remark give it a go yourself and at the same time put a question mark when U ask smthing!

Anyway tommeke where r u? ;)

Hi,

I know it's been some time, but we are still working on the EBBR project, don't worry ;). We've done a lot of work with the ground, constructing a new beta, creating a gate docking system (works for 50%), experimenting with lights,... So we did quite a lot, but it's difficult to post screenshots of those things. I'll check my computer later on and see if I can post some new shots.

People who were at the SNBA opendoor yesterday, could see some pc's with a beta version of EBBR2005 on it at the IVAO stand. I was there too, together with vital and filip ...

Thomas

PS
I'm not going to waste more forum space on answering russianboy's stupid questions...

Cheers Tommeke!

One more reason to actually cry over the fact that I didn't make it!

Can imagine the amount of patience you have knowing that every bit of detail actually counts for you!

No more pushiness from me I'll be waiting patiently (btw still haven't bought my new computer hahahah :))

Hi,

Well if you come to the FS Lanparty (www.fslanparty.be) you can still have a look at the scenery.

The 'big-work' for EBBR had been done now, it's just adding the details. But these details like the lights are very time consuming, as I don't really now (knew) how to add them properly. The docking system is also a 'hell-to-make'. I could use a predefined docking systems, which I can find on the web, but then it is not really the docking system of the A-pier or B-pier. So I make them from scratch, based on pictures and video's of the real system @ EBBR. So yes, I want it to be perfect :).

No problem asking about the status. It was already more than a month ago since our last post, so you're absolutely right asking for an update ;).

Will it feature the old C-pier or the tarmac as it is today (with pier removed and new stands and light poles)?

The old C-Pier will be optional during installation. The model has been finished long time ago, so it would be a waste not to include it in our scenery. So the user decides wether to include it or not....
