A330 SN Brussels in Douala

Post by Schep »

What's happened with the A330 in Douala ?

The Eurocockpit website said that a SN BRUSSELS AIRLINES plane skidded off the runway.

Do you have more information?

Regards,

Schep

This rumour must be false, I didn't hear anything in that direction the last few days!

There's one strange remark on www.biac.be/arrivals about SN:

SN236, Monrovia via Dakar (A330-300) seems to be cxld:

06:05 scheduled
08:54 delayed
08:54 cancelled

(could well be input error of course)

And today's flight to Banjul and Dakar is also cancelled.

Well, I sent a mail to the VRT, maybe they can dig this story out :)

Maybe you should send something to 40 40 of VTM. I'm sure with all what happened lately in aviation that they will look at what happened. For them this would be an interesting story!

Normally, at this time, we should have already received an official version from SN.

I guess (and hope!) it's only a rumour or something...

If VTM or VRT (and perhaps RTL and RTBf) wants to know what happened, they will check this site first!

off topic: That 4040 thing is crappy, last week they had a witness concerning something. He was talking such a load of rubbish, things that are just impossible. Afterwards Birgit van mol was ever so proud to announce that this was a person who used their 40 40 service... anyway... vtm

on topic: It is kinda strange that no official statement has been given thus far. There's not really a point in covering it up is there? There are SN employees on the forum, don't they know more?

It must be a rumour. Nothing hear on the radio, TV, internet or the site of SNBA.
What I will believe is that the aircraft must be in a foreign country. If it had a technical problem we had to see that aircraft at hangar 40. Or one of the members who are mechanics had to notice that he was here.

But, for the moment the flights are cancelled. Do they have a back up for that?

Or, it's rather silly, it's maybe not an accident but maybe the aircraft is gone for a cabin refurbishment.

A rumour does not lead to the cancellation of flights. There must have been something, perhaps not in Douala, but elsewhere, in Africa or in Belgium.

There were problems in Cameroon few days ago: France has put Cameroon Airlines on their blacklist, and as a revenche, Cameroon refused an AF plane to land, forcing it to return to Paris.

SNBA then also said they would stay out of Cameroon for a few days: remember the story with the fuel stop in Nice that didn't take place.

Could be the cancellations are a result from a short notice schedule change.

Why was the flight Dakar - Banjul cancelled yesterday?? Simple, the day before yesterday someone of the catering said he saw a mouse....so they are already trying to find the mouse for two days now....today they are also trying to figure out who of the catering staff said such a thing......

EQP is a A319, not the A333

(return is Banjul-Casablanca-Brussels)

off topic

"Alles wat niet lachend kan gezegd worden is de waarheid niet".

I'm sure Etienne D. thinks that Rob K. and Peter D. have released that Microtus arvalis (veldmuis) in the plane because the Board has rejected their business plan.

Hi everybody.
No there is no A330 in Douala was yesterday in douala.
What happened Monday was a Luchtzak of 3000 feet so some passengers where light injured and the plane take a light delay.
