New routes from Zaventem: Colombo, Phuket, Maldives

Post by Atlantis »

From December 18, 2005 Thomas Cook served three new destinations from Zaventem with Martinair.

They will be flying to Colombo and Phuket. But it's not all they will lengthen it to the Maldives and came back direct from the Maldives.

At least Zaventem will have some exotic destinations and I think it will be working. For those destinations a lot of people here have to go to LHR or AMS or CDG to catch those flights. Finally we have them by our own.

As Atlantis said in his post the flight will be operated in co-operation with Martinair.

Most likely you will see Martinair planes at BRU for these flights.

However Thomas Cook is updating their website to allow passengers to book only their flights and not the entire vacation package. So it could certainly become a viable alternative for many people who want to travel to these cities/countries.

Few days ago, Thomas Cook (the touroperator) announced it will start up flight only on most of their destinations. Colombo is in the list!

Thomas Cook = the touroperator

Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium = the airline

I was looking at this website ... Nice much better than some time ago.

Especially nice working maps with all the destinations.

Can they do this with their single B767 they are using now or will the add capacity from Brussels?

I think they will need a second B767 for the new routes if they will not getting into problems with the other routes if there is a problem with an aircraft.
