That's great, I really love your drawings, and the rainbow is a nice addition.

Andre, I loved CTB's MD-11, flew it in Sept '99 via MCO ( Orlando ) to MIA ( Miami ) and back. I also could visit the flightdeck. Awesome plane! 8)
Very nice pics! 8O
I've also got it in model kit

We (terenia and myself) also had two memorable flights on a CTB MD11 from BRU to Varadero and Puerto Plata and back. We even went on a wholde-day whale-spotting excursion on a rough sea with one of the stewardesses, a girl from Charleroi whose name I forgot. The crew was staying at our hotel in Puerto Plata (Dominican republic) :lol: .

The CityBird livery was striking, but I could never say it was pretty. I saw a 737 of theirs back in BRU in 2001, I wish I'd got it on video because they went bankrupt shortly after, but I could never think of the aircraft as having nice colours.

Whale watching sounds fun, but I won't be drawn into any kind of discussion about marine related stuff because it is the most bloody awful, tedious, hateful branch of biology ever invented.

I hate marine biology!! :pukey: :pukey: :pukey: :pukey: :pukey:

I will answer Avro and 777 at once.

Avro - I studied marine biology because when I started the course I was interested in marine animals (whales, seals, fish etc) and I thought the course would be interesting. What I didn't know was that the bloody lecturers at this so called "university" were bloody thick (one admitted she knew nothing about fish) and were always having to be corrected by the students (our environmental chemistry teacher was incompetent, the students tried to get him sacked because he was so thick). I thought that in the third year, when I did my own study I could finally do something I was interested in, but I was wrong!!! All I could do for my study was crap related to what the bloody lecturers were interested in (all they liked was - seaweed, insects which crawl on seaweed, shell fish and worms which bury themselves in mud and sand - that is all we were allowed to study for three bloody years!!!!) I also thought that having a degree would help me get into vet school to fulfill my real ambition. Our assesments at this "University" consisted of - design a poster working ina group of four, write an essay on GM crops (in marine biology??) working in a bloody group of four, draw and label five insect larvae, draw and label five different planktons, draw and label five different bloody shells, draw and label five different worms, draw and label five seaweeds. After all that tedious boredom I decided I never wanted anything to do with the bloody sea or anything in it ever again.

Now all everyone who meets me ever talks to me about is bloody marine biology, that is why I like to come on aviation forums so much, because I can talk about what I am really interested in, and not the bloody sea, things on seaweed, things in mud or sand.

@Comet

What an angry young lady you appear to be!

Apart from Belgium (except Antwerpen restaurants) is there anything you do like?

You've obviously not familiarised yourself with my posts Concordino.

I love Belgium, Belgian beer, Belgian aviation, other aviation. Read the City Guide forum, you will see many restaurant reviews which I have submitted, so I think I do like something!

Read the Airline Experiences about my flights with Finnair, Sabena, VLM, Air France, Aer Lingus.

You need to read more of my work before you make such a sweeping suggestion about my character.

If I didn't like anything, how come I have run a Group on Yahoo for over two years now dedicated to Belgian aviation (when the going has been quiet with that Group, I have kept it going single handedly, making posts for our e-mail subscribers and hoping to attract more members). We are now one of the more successful airline groups on Yahoo, in the top 20 (about number 15) out of 87 groups in the category. I will not let that group die a death like the airline it was originally set up for. Believe me, when I am interested in something I am very dedicated to it.

Do not make sweeping generalisations about me in future.

Sorry sn,

I only joined the forum this week and having read many posts, I only see Comet praising Belgium, but complaining about almost everything else and then to read her explanation of her university course my mysoginistic nature came to the surface and made my fingers type!

I too have things that do not please me but I try to keep my complaints to myself and within my close circle of family and friends, not broadcast them in public as I am sure that you would find them tiresome.

Wilst in moaning mode, am I the only member who doesn't like MD11's pictures?

It seems to be that you're the only one that doens't like them. :wink:
Off course nobody tells you that you have to look at them.
Perhaps you can give a reasonable explanation why you don't like them? :o

@ Comet

A little sensitive today, Louise??? Love to see more female members on aviation fora, especially if they have open minds and are willing to learn.

@MD11

I guess you put in lots of time & effort but your pics just seem very 2d - sorry
