Doesn't AC have to get an agreement with their pilots first before they can arrange for financing for new planes? I hope i didn't misunderstand the post but financing for new planes is what you were talking about right?
Correct, I think AC is going to lease through GE Aircraft Leasing, so they won't have to put all that money up front, however the details are still very vague so I would not draw any conclusions just yet.
The pilots need to be slapped!!! I would take what an MD-80 Captain is making at American to fly a 777!!! Lets see, you're flying state of the art equipment and they probably have a nice selection of lines to fly (for the 777), what is there to negotiate again?!?!?!!?!
"What's this button do?? I don't know, push it and find out................."
I hate to defend the pilots on this one but AC should have done a better job integrating the pilots from Canadian Airlines when the two merged. a lot of the unhappiness comes from the AC pilots who got bumped down the seniority list from the Canadian Airline pilots. Hopefully the pilots and AC management can come to some kind of agreement to get those new birds up and flying real soon.
