Are the routes the 330 will operate on, already known?

IAD, EWR, ACC and YUL have all been mentioned on several occasions but since KL has decided to keep all MD11s until 2010, the plan may have changed.

Well since the KL A332's are ment to replace the 767's I assume you could imagine the current 767 routes as future A332 routes

Sort of. Apparently KLM has decided to use a BBJ on its second flight to IAH from Oct. onwards - read it somewhere - I''ll post the link if i find it. That takes one 763 out of the system to be retired / placed elsewhere. The KLM timetable also has AUH / BAH shifting over to a 332 early next year some time so it looks as though most of the 763 routes will be 332's. However - anyone fancy 10hrs on a BBJ to IAH? Personally I don't - even if it is all business class. Gimme upstairs in the 747 ahead of that anytime!

I agree with you, I also would prefer the B747 upper deck.

But Lufthansa has a similar product, Privatair operates A319's and Boeing 737 BBJ's in an all business class layout (I think something like 56 seats?) from Germany to the United States and it is doing very well. So there is a market for those kind of flights, mainly by business people. I guess they don't give a shit about what kind of aircraft they fly, as long as it is comfortable and get's them fast to their destination.
