Nope, passengers who have to take the bus to reach their plane, have to wait over there. There are several 'gates' (doors actually) where the bus stops in front, and brings you to your aircraft.
that 'thing' off the B pier is in fact looking very much like a huge white marque and serves as a kind of waiting room for passengers who's plane is on remote stand and need to be bussed to their flight. (You could best compare its use to a kind of bus station)
I can't remember it being used over the last few years, because like you might know, since Schengen came into effect, the B pier is used for non-schengen flights only and a brand new A pier was built, so there are now plenty of gates at the B pier available. Even small commuter planes like the Emb 145 park in front of their gate and let their pax board via the jetty (the last few meters need to be done via the adjacent staircase), so hardly anybody leaves from remote stands these days and that bus station has pritty much become useless...
Sabena_690,
I thought even the Fokker 50s from VLM now pull in to the gates at the B pier and only go to remote stands if they stay over night in BRU? (thus they do a deboarding only on remote)
The B9X-gates are still used for aircraft at remote stands (in busy periods) or if an aircraft destined for a non-shengen country arrives at the A-pier (for example SNBA AVRO coming from Munich leaving for Geneva) and pax are bussed to the bottom of the jetway there. Still happens a lot on SNBA AVRO (PRG, BUD, WAW, LED, LGW, GVA, ...). So it isn't that useless .
that thing on B pier can hardly be valled a building. I used it when I took a flight with BMI to Notthingham east midlands on a Embraer. It is indeed a bus stop.

It depends, but they also use the B-Pier of course. However, they do not connect to a jetbridge (the same with for example the ER3-ER4). Passengers have to make a short walk to the aircraft.
Which part is now protected The departure hall or the satelite or both??
Personally I don't think its a good idea to protect building on a airport. An airport must be flexible.
What I personally would like to see is that they Or demolish the old departure hall and te satelite and build a new part if there is one needed.
Or that they refurbish it. And indeed it can be done really slowly because there is no need to.
And maybe use it than as a highly secured parking spot.
for the US/UK/Israel flight with also a secured tarmac so that those people from securair aren't standing at those planes but one secured area with seperated material and bagage screening ect. And than can biac ask high prices for highly secured spots??
just a "hersenspinsel".
My opinion demolish it and build a new one I think it is realy a ugly and now filty building.
And they should also clean once and modernise those boarding bridge from the B-pier. The building itself is nice with the windows and looks modern but those boarding bridges ruin it. If they would clean then and modernise a little (Power out of the ground, instead of on the bridge, like at the A-pier) Would be better for the passengers. Now they have to be a time in the dark because of the fuel saving program to not start the APU on arrival. And the external power can't be connected intul the boaring bridge has been set to place.
Put a little money in modernising B-pier Biac. I think it would be good for using the terminal for a long time without it will be dated like the old aipot building.

external power does come out of the ground as you put it and has nothing to do with the boarding bridge.
Perhaps you are talking about the airco?

No, at the B-Pier the external power is hanging at the bridge, at the A-Pier there is a Pit( it comes out of the ground) Both at the A-Pier and B-Pier the airco comes from the the bridge
As you can see here the black cable hanging from the bridge.
You have the yellow airco from there you have a black cable that goes up and back down, thats the external power at the B-Pier

Yeah it is a little bit confusing but it has to be this
Power out of the ground, instead of in the bridge, like at the A-pier. I Forgot the , I will edit it.
