Hello
Only had a quick look trough the topic wherefrom the link has been given.
But let me get you one thing straight. I don't hope so , but I fear for it...that you might have serious difficulties in spotting there RIGHT NOW.
Because I went there recently and you can only spot on 1/2 or 3/4 and that part is fully surrounded by a 20m high wall , wich means you don't see a thing. Only on the end of the runways the wall is shortly interrupted. You that will be the only place you see spotters. Along the narrow airport ring.
You will certainly see some spotters there since it's the only place you can spot right now I THINK(not sure but...)Since the visitors terrace is closed due to renovation works for the 380 next year.
Further there is one or two more places wherefrom I do not know the exact location. You have the narrow view on the US Air Base of Frankfurt (I think , just saw some foto's from it
) and than there is the spot next to the highway, although it is not really a spot. I don't even know wetter you have the place to stand there at all. And my taught is that it might be dangerous. Reducing your speed on the highway might cause accidents and it isn't really a possibility of standing on the 'PECHSTROOK' (if you understand the word (you might not speak Dutch
))
So my opinion is. If you want...take a ride around the whole airport and see for yourself. And if you want to know it right now. You can go to the airport ring and go stand under the landing for the 07L/07R or you have also the possibility to stand along RWY18 , but I don't know exactly how to get there.(If necessarily ask a spotter around there)
TIP!!!! GO EARLY!!!!(especially for approach) , and also late you can see some nice visitors. (like ANA , Asiana , JAL , Air China etc...)

SO...EARLY!!!!
Have fun!

Re: FRA spotplaces...?
Hallo Daniel, the visitor`s terrace is good for looking, but not really good for taking photos because the light until evening makes it impossible. In my opinion, but you`ll need a car in this case, there are three spotter points: my favourite positions is ZEPPELINHEIM - leaving the Highway via Basel for Zeppelinheim or US Air Base, then turn left via "recration area" and after a five minutes walk you`ll reach a footlocker bridge and there`s where you`ll got some nice shoots of landing planes (it depends of the wind of course) ...
To reach the other positions follow the references to CARGO Tor 31, so you will get to the other side of the area and about 4km from terminal you`ll find little car parks bothside the street - there you can pictures of landing planes, depending on the wind ...
Only some hundreds meters forward the street is turning left - there`s another little car park on the right side; from there it`s a three minutes alk to the third spotting point near the RWY 18, where you can watch starting planes the whole day long - but you need a 3 step-ladder for taking pictures without fence.
Have a look at this homepage : www.charliebravo.de - you`ll find a map there.
Hope I could help you! Regards Jörg
