Some large ticket sellers have confirmed that the hours of Etihad are unattractive for the people who ant to use it to BKK.
9 hours waiting at Abu Dhabi , no way.

About the possible MIA - BRU flights of AA, no news for so far. The site of American don't give any news or new route from MIA to BRU for next year. I have to say that not the whole year is mentioned on their site.

I don't think that we can expect it soon.

MIA - BRU is not (yet) in the pipeline with AA. But there is something else that is investigated by AA. But more info I can't give at this moment.

You mean the BOS flight is being investigated?

All depends, regi, if they pay me a good room and arrive at a suitable hour in BKK, why not.
Arriving after an excellent brunch and cocktails, I would not say 'no way'.

All I can think about is either BOS-BRU with a B757 or ORD/DFW-BRU-India

The route from ORD to Delhi is starting November 15 2005. But I toughed it will be non-stop flights.

In the other case BOS-BRU is more likely.

More likely, but I mean AA have more market for BRU/MIAMI minihub to minihub

To SN30952:
at Abu Dhabi there is just an expensive airport hotel available for transit passengers. They rate by day, not by blocks of hours like most airport hotels in transit zones. (as Bahrain)
It would cost about 100-120 US $ for a room to cover that 9 hour transfer.
Add that to your ticket cost.
Some travel agents offer the Etihad flights, but they still route going over Munich and return over London. Still no direct routing.
By the way: for the cheap charlies among us: LTU offers flights of +-500 euro tax included from Düsseldorf to Bangkok. Non stop in the going, fuel stop at Dubai in the return.

Any update since last August ? When will ANA becom SNBA's bride between BRU and Japan ? Or does JAL also have a chance ? Do they have traffic rights to BRU ? How about the old traffic rights of Sabena in Japan ? Can they simply be taken over by SNBA ? :thumbsup2:

We have to be patient. BIAC is in talk with some airlines, but they don't give the name when everything is ok. It likes me very normal.
But according to BIAC, it must be 2006 that an airline from China or Japan will land at BRU. The Flemish government and Toerisme Vlaanderen are also in talk with some countries to attract more tourists, especially China.

A positive thing is that at 1 January 2006 the prices for the airport of BRU are frozen for five years, and BRU is very competitive. The airport is cheaper then our neighbour airports.

But like I said, be patient, it's not because we received this week Etihad that next week the whole world will land at BRU.

@Andong,

Do you know when the delegation of Hainan will come to BRU. I hope that they this time get a solution. Hainan had big plans at BRU.

An other rumour that I have read yesterday. Emirates is planning to make from FRA his European hub. From that point they want to reach the rest of the USA. But at this moment it's still a rumour. So, if there was a question if Emirates was interesting to come to BRU, I don't think so.

It's nice to see that Hainan hasn't iven up yet :) Let's hope they'll be able to come in the near future. The same counts for ANA of course. !!!

Etihad could reply and make out of BRU its European hub to go to the US :p

Etihad have plans to start up next year with flights to New York. Maybe via BRU?

If they are happy with BRU why not. But in that case SN won't codeshare on the BRU- New-York leg since they already do so with AA.
