Hi all!

It was a wonderful "opendeur dag". I really enjoied every corner of the hangar! :P
I was very surprised to see the long queue at 1530 when we left (Avro and me)

The flight was fantastic! I took some videos of the coast and other places but I mainly have clouds :( (but beautiful ones :D ) We tried to have good window seats but not knowing the cabin layout by heart I got 7F which happens to have only half a window on the back  . But nevertheless i got nice views :D :) :D !!
The fact that we got "diplomas" for our flights was very surprising and fun!

thanks for such a great day SNBA!!!
See you next year (I'm speaking to the contents of the hangar :P )

ciao,
TriStar :D :D :D

I really envy you guys!! I was stuck in sunny Scarborough, but would much rather have been at BRU (why couldn't this have been in early September when I could have gone along???)

Glad all you who went along enjoyed the day though!!!

Chris: Pressclub did not only talk with VIP's, since also I had a chat with him ;)

Right now I'm still enjoying my trip of yesterday... unbelieveble!

I repeat myself again and again, but it was just GREAT.

Chris: you must have been in the line just in front of me (was there at 9.15), and also when booking the flights (there were about 70 people in front of me).

Damn damn, I only meeted one luchtzak member (besides Bart of course): MD-11! (the guy of the nice drawings).

I was standing in front of it.
(Sometimes)
Mostley buyse around it. Giving a basic tour.
I never had the time to go in it. But I'll do it today because I have to work and I don't have to wait 45 minutes before I can get in the cabin :p

Hello,

I visited Sn Brussels Airlines too. When we arrived at 9H45 there was a queue until the end of the Lufthansa hanger. We wanted to visit another company in the afternoon so we had not the time to wait and wait at the two aircrafts, so we only visited OO-SSM. I saw only Geert walking with some press and no other people from Luchtzak except some flight attendants from the picture gallery. We also asked a lot of information on the technicians.

In the afternoon, we visited Asco
, a company that fabricates slat and flap systems for the aviation industry. There were also some parts of the new A380, the slat mechanism, some parts of the front landing gear and the engine fitting of engine 1 and 4.

We should all wear the Luchtzak T-shirt next time. Otherwise it's difficult to meet people in such a place.

Hi guys,

we sure had a great time yesterday. I met a lot of friends yesterday, including Patrick, Richard and Jutta from abroad.

We took SN 1011 (12 o' clock flight), performed by RJ100 OO-DWL. Too bad of the clouds, but we flew, that's important, right?

After the flight, we met some other friends, had a chat, and stood in line to visit the A319 OO-SSM. Afterwards, we visited the engine shop and the repair shop as well.

Afterward we did some spotting at the end of 25R, but the weather was deteriorating badly, so we departed after only 10 minutes or so.

Anyway, what did all of you guys buy? I bought the A319 model, an SN BA T-shirt and an SN BA cap.

It was great to meet all of you again. See you soon!

Ivan

Those are very nice pictures Bart

I just finished downloading my pics  Unfortunately the window I had during my flight was very dirty, which means that there are some (many  ) pictures that have a bad quality.

I'll upload them tonight on jetphotos?

Ciao

Hi all,

I've also visited SN Brussels Airlines yesterday. I was standing in the queue at Lufthansa Technik at 9:40. I couldn't take a look inside the Avro and the Airbus :( , because there was so much people and i had to leave already at 11:15. It was a great event and i enjoyed it very much. 8)
Anyway, what did all of you guys buy?
Well i bought an A319 model and a nice SN Brussels polo. :D

 In the afternoon i've visited Asco Industries.
I haven't met one of the luchtzak members, but it seems that i've done almost the same programme as Liebensd, take a look at his post for more Asco information.

Hey all

It was just FANTASTIC! I set my alarm clock at 7.30 - on a Sunday :? - but SNBA was worth it!

We (my dad, my aunt, my brother and I) were at about 9.40 at SNBA, waiting in the queue next to the Royco soup stall. When the doors went open, we immediately rushed to the Avro to get into it. Although it is rather small, I liked it very much. It was my first time when I was in an Avro. After have checked it from top to bottom, we chatted with the very kind and beautiful :D stewardess in the back. (and she's on the photo with me:p)

After the Avro, we walked towards the Airbus, which came in when we still were in the Avro. We were very lucky: because when we were almost in the aircraft, I looked around and there was such a big queue of people waiting to get in it. The 3 queues (ticketing flights, Avro-visit, Airbus-visit) started all together at one point.

Also the Airbus was very nice. This bird has also been checked from top to bottom, and again we chatted with the stewardess who standed in the back (it's the one who is on the pictures of MD-11).
Anyway, what did all of you guys buy?
I bought the mug, the Airbus model @ €15 (the others were too expensive for a poor student like me), the polo and the poster with the pilot in cabin on his socks.

Well, this was my visit-report. I hope that there will be soon many many pictures :D and that the next SNBA Open Door won't be too long away.

SNBA: thank you for this very nice sunday-morning!

Will there be another one next year? Preferably early September, but not the 12th??!!!

You all seem to have had a great time and I was stuck in a Chinese restaurant in Scarborough. I wish I could have been in Brussels!!

The 'enterprise open doors day' has become an annual feature throughout Belgium since 6-7 years now. Not every company opens its doors every year. I hope with you that SN BA will reopen its doors next year , and why not also Virgin Express, Sobelair, Thomas Cook and VLM.

Airbus_fan: were you in the queue together with Thomas Desmet? I did not really recognise Thomas (although I saw him already once), but I was about 30% sure you were the guy on a picture somewhere posted over here a few weeks ago.

I was standing just in front of the soup van.

It would be nice if avery year at least one of those companies would organize an "open door" event.
