Catch me if you can...

Post by HorsePower »

Listened on the radio today:

Yesterday (02AUG05), CDG airport:

A man wearing an AF pilot uniform cames to the AF desk claimed a air ticket, showing his professionnal card. Immediately, the AF staff recognized it was a false card and called discreetly the airport security. The man was arrested few minutes after. Silly guy.

Not everybody can be Di Carpaccio...! Anyone wants to try?

Regards

Seb.

A Brit journalist pulled the same stunt yesterday on the Eurostar. One inspires the other.
Next we'll have the guys of Telefacts or Luc Alloo or some other moron trying their luck at BRU...

landed this morning at CDG from Bahrain.
terminal 1 is an utter disgrace for modern air travel.
It took 1 hour to get the luggage.
Looking around 10 meters from the customs and immigration counters, not 1 person was controlled or asked a question by the services during 1 hour! Just 1 south african guy was being questioned by immigration. The door was open, it was about a wrong visum. But no questions at all about luggage.
Many asians waved through, probably their bags fuel of pork based items which is forbidden now in the EC.
I don't like CDG and will try to avoid it in the future.

I guess Di Capprio used Terminal 1 from CDG often then  But then what a coincidence. Di Capprio was in the movie and so was Tom Hanks and it was called CATCH ME IF U CAN. And with the recent and above personal experience narrated by Regi, i think Steven would have premonised the same and made the modie THE TERMINAL  What he forgot could be the number 1.

 Jestfully said. No malice against anyone. And yes i clearly know that both the movies had everything to do with flights and airports in US.
Aum Sweet Aum.

Indeed, didn't the true story, the one upon which the movie (The Terminal) was based, happen at CDG?

Yep, in terminal... 1, of course! The man died last year IIRC.

Yeah, I must say terminal 1 is a disgrace for France. It takes ages to retrieve one's luggage, it's complicated to move around, it's messy and above all things, it's uttermost filthy. Look at the pavement filled with dried chewing gum... Luckily they're in the course of refurbishing it, so in 2007 it should look good... hopefully.

actually I came from Abu Dhabi (over Bahrain). It has a similar dome shaped - sattelite design as CDG 1.
The big difference with CDG is that the toilet at the sattelite was clean.
The biggest proof that this round shaped terminal is utterly useless is the fact that the new CDG Term 2 is...a different design.
I saw some renovation work going on at CDG 1. The only thing that came into my mind was "call in the cavalry"

He's moving to the US now, he's not dead.

For Terminal 1, I agree it is horrible and I work there :D

I think they should make an all new terminal to replace it.

in stead of refurbishing , destroy it and built a new one , well maybe bit stronger adn other designer then theone from T2 that collapsed but ok ... a new one should be much better with better technique ...
