FS2004 crash

Post by realplaneshaveprops »

Everytime I startup FS2004, the program crashes during loading. I don't think it's my hardware, because I've flown about 350 hours before with the same software on the same computer without any problem.

I've tried to reinstall a couple of times, but the problem stays the same.

Hi,

perhaps this won't help you much but did you ran a virus- and spyware check?

It would seem that at least something in your configuration has changed; if it isn't the hardware, it might be the software...

Cheers,
Wim.

yes, at least once a week. Next week I will try to format my harddisk. Let's hope it will help.

had the same thing last week, try to restore the system with the windows recovery tool. Go back to the time your FS worked.

Maybe you left some add-ons in the flight simulator folder which may have caused the crash before.... Did U delete the folder aswell? (msfs leaves add-ons when U uninstall msfs...)

Yep, I deleted everything everytime I tried to reinstall.
I hope that the format of my harddisk will be the solution.

Maybe you've got two left hands, and that's the reason you're crashing...   Don't blame the computer!!!

You should not have to reformat anything, if you can remember the last time the program ran without problems simply run a system restore to that date, hopefully you are running XP?

or you can run a safe mode reboot by pushing f8 on startup, and run in safe mode, then run fs9 and see if you have problems. your screen will not be the original size, don't change it! if everything runs ok! then its not a hardware problem. If you have added any programs since your restore point, disable them or uninstall them, and restart, and see what happens..

KT

good luck
