As predicted, this atrocity has sparked more alerts. Leeds bus station had been sealed off after reports of a suspicious package.

More about the Tube. It said that the tunnel of the deep Piccadilly line was in danger of collapsing. Knowing that there are tracks at different levels in the Underground system, could a collapse of the Piccadilly tunnel cause problems and subsidence of the lines which run above?

And will the Number 30 bus, which was involved in the atrocity, be re-numbered like the flights involved in 9/11 were given different numbers? Such things have a tendency to attract ghouls.

The death toll has risen to 52 and the first two victims have been named. One from the Tube and one from the bus.

Police are searching addresses in West Yorkshire in connection with the bomb attacks. I hope they get the bastards.

It appears that these bombings were carried out by suicide bombers.

Here is a copy of a cartoon which featured in the Daily Express newspaper the other day.

Some routes are going through Kings Cross, the Metropolitan is going through, and the Victoria. The Circle is still not running and I think the Piccadilly is running in parts.

The two minute silence held on Thursday was moving to watch on TV, with people standing in places affected by the attacks, and all over Europe too. The driver of the bus involved in the attacks made a speech.

We have heard nothing of how the Tube drivers helped their passengers to safety. Why?

Also, a website has beens et up where you can send in photos to show defiance. Go to http://www.werenotafraid.com

There is a delay on photos getting on because there are so many being sent. I have sent a couple myself.

I forgot to mention the good old Northern Line is also running through Kings Cross (that's the black one on the map and everything looks very grim on there, the Metropolitan is the nicest because they have steam weekends on there and alot is above ground).

The bus involved in the attacks was taken away over the weekend, covered in ropes and tarpaulin on the back of a lorry.

The death toll has risen to 55.

Not anymore. The coaches used are being sold. They havent even had a railtour using 1960's tube stock for ages. There was something in Railway Magazine about it a month or two ago

That's a pity Humberside, it used to be nice seeing the steams on an evening ride out on the Met. I read that the Transport Museum had got an old 1938 Tube car into full working order and they were considering operating tours of the Underground network with it, but I don't know which bits.

The death toll is now 56, it was announced on Channel 5 news.

Police are concerned about what the bus bomber did and went before the bus blew up. That explosion happened nearly an hour later than the Tube ones.

Last night work was underway to remove the Circle Line train from Edgware Road. It is hoped that the Circle Line will be back runing in a couple of weeks. With the other attack at Aldgate, this has knocked out the whole Circle Line, as the attacks were at each end. The Circle Line is the only line on the Underground without a terminus. Trains run either clockwise or anticlockwise around a large area of central London. It is a continuous loop.

The Egyptian arrested in Egypt was found to have no connection with the attacks.

More explosions today. A number 26 bus had its windows blown out. Tube trains were evacuated. A rucksack was seen to explode. I shall have more details when my damned browser gets off its backside and bothers to load the page I am looking for. It is said to be a nail bomb explosion at Warren Street. One person reported injured. Victoria, Northern and Hammersmith and City lines suspended service.

A suspected suicide bomber was shot dead by plain clothes armed police this morning. This was at Stockwell (Victoria and Northern lines), which is only one stop along from Oval, which was involved in yesterday's problems. There is speculation that this was one of yesterday's bombers.

Aldgate has reopened for the Metropolitan Line today. The Circle is still closed down, as are parts of the Piccadilly, Hammersmith and City and District. The Met is fully up and running.

The suspected bomber who has been shot dead was actually an innocent electrician for Brazil who for no apparent reason ran away from the police....

Shame but why on earth did he run away?

It is tragic that an innocent man has been killed, but for the police it is a no-win situation. If that had been a suicide bomber they had been following, and they had done nothing, and then a train would have been blown up and scores of innocent people killed, then they would have been blamed for not protecting the public. They acted in the heat of the moment, in a very tense time. If the man had stopped and raised his hands when challenged he would have been arrested, questioned then released without charge. The fact that he vaulted over the ticket barrier, raced down the escalator and onto a train was a bad mistake to make the day after attempted suicide attacks.

Two of the individuals wanted in connection with the attempted attacks have been named by police.

The four suspects wanted in connection with the attempted suicide attack of 21st July have been arrested. The final one was arrested in Rome.

Pictures have been shown on the BBC website of two of the trains in the attacks - the Russell Square one and the Edgware Road one. I won't post them in this thread, but looking at them you wouldn't know they had been trains, especially the Edgware Road one :(

Great news!

Let's hope no more attempts to bomb the London transport system will happen again!

But let's also make a wish: NO more innocent people killed in all parts of the world...
