EU Jet future

Shares in the owner, of EU Jet, Kent International Manston and Black Forest Lahr airports, Planestation have been suspended pending clarification of planestation's financial position. Not looking good

EU Jet are based at Kent International Manston but also operate a small base at Shannon

There was a recent article in "Airliner World".

It seems like some of their destinations are only profitable in the summer period, and not in the winter period. The airline's CEO tells that they are not profitable with the current load factor of 60%. He explains that this is normal for a starting airline and that they are still meeting their core business projections. The man is still confident and is even talking about expansion programmes.

Of course, these facts are presented from the airline's side and are possibly not too reliable. Perhaps he's only keeping up appearances...

This winter they plan to focus on ski routes like GVA, Salzburg and Innsbruck which should do better than some summer routes for them. They also plan to focus to Shannon more with an aircraft based all week. SNN has done well for them so far apparently. I just hope they can survive as their winter schedule looks promising for them

Tickets with EUJet?

Hello,

I have bought tickets to fly from Kent International Airport next month to Ibiza. Will EUJet still be operating next month?

If anyone could give an intelligent guess or has a crystal ball then please let me know...

I dont think any one knows for certain but apparently the license is at risk because of the financial problems.

I just hope EU Jet and Planestation pull through this

EU Jet say they will not fly to NCL, EDI, BFS and DUB today - http://www.eujet.com/information/newsalert.asp

Hi All,

three aircraft ferried Manston to Dinard this afternoon

EI-DFC as EUJ290P dept 1609L
EI-DBE as EUJ329P dept 1617L
EI-DFB as EUJ296P dept 1635L

a fourth aircraft is temporarily impounded at Edinburgh (I belive)

ALSO ferried EDI-Dinard 26Jul

Seems debis AirFinance & Fokker Services didn't hang around to get their aircraft back

The airline started flying in September 2004 but has carried 330,000 people instead of a estimated 500,000.

Was it really sensible to launch an airline in Manston when Gatwick is just over an hour away (6th airport in Europe with 32 million passengers/year) and the Channel Tunnel is about 30 min away! EU jet has had to axe several routes since it's launch and it was predictable it would eventually go bust!

I agree and I'm a fan of regional airports but the way the airline industry is going at the moment, new airline startups need to consider many aspects before launching an airline!

The airline started flying earlier as an ACMI operator owned by debis air finance. It was last September when they started their scheduled flights
