Thought I heard something in the news that the shuttle Discovery will be seen over Belgium at around 22 hours local time, heading East.
Any confirmation on this?

Space Shuttle over Belgium
When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
On several Astronomical website this news was released a couple of hours after the new launch date/time of STS-114.luchtzak wrote:Well, then first we should watch CNN or BBC World for the take-off then go outside and look for the Discovery![]()
Didn't receive any news though that it would fly over Belgium
But unfortunately, the launch has been cancelled due to a technical problem. One of the sensor that issues a warning of a possible fuel leak failed. A new launch date will be released later this evening by NASA.
The scenario was that, at about 21h51 Brussels LT, STS-114 should lift-off at Cape Canaveral in Florida, and about 20 minutes later he would be passing Europe at an altitude of roughly 200 km (+- 600.000ft) from the west to the east. It could be visible in the Belgian sky as a "star-like" light traveling at a speed of an airliner without contrails nor beaconlights. But this will not be happening tonight due to the technical.
Best Regards
