Civil Aviation - General Aviation
I dont know what others think but is that name confusing? Wouldnt it be better just to call it civil aviation?

Good idea as well, but the webteam feared that we would have too much forums.Humberside wrote:Maybe have a civil and a general aviation forum then?
Maybe I should name it 'General Discussion about aviation' or 'Commercial Aviation' but the latter would tend to look like the 'latest aviation news'-forum

It is a little confusing - after so long with "Airline Experiences" directly below "Latest Aviation News" we now have "Civil Aviation" above airline reports instead of below it like General Aviation used to be. You now have to look twice when surfing the forums in this way, rather than going straight into the second forum in the list and knowing that is where you would find trip reports.

Wikipedia categories civil aviation in 2 different parts:
* Scheduled air transport, including all passenger or cargo flights that operate on a published schedule; and
* General aviation, including all other flights, private or commercial

As for the forums-location, changed a few things again to avoid confusion.

On the Airliner World forums, they have General Aviation for private pilots and light aircraft, Commercial Aviation for airliners and spotting reports (no separate spotting forums there), Trip Reports, Military Aviation with offshoots for army, navy and missiles, Historic Aviation, General Discussion and Flight Simulation. The biggest bulk of their Commercial Aviation consists of spotting reports.
Nice to see the forum order returned, the "veteren" Luchtzak surfers among us were so used to Trip Reports being second placed, it was easy to surf the forums without looking at the titles because you knew the way around.
