Was the 40 A320 for Malaysian?

Post by MrAirbus »

Hi everyone!
I feel like it’s been very slow here the past few days! Ore maybe I have been was to sick with an awful flue!

As you all might have heard Airbus was hoping to announce a big order for 40+ A320 but this order was never really official and the name of the costumer was not mentioned!

There are some speculations on the net that this might have been a Malaysian Airline order!

What do you all think? :?:

I would have thought it was Malaysian ore Chinese airline!

With the amount of 40 frames it should go to an asian carrier, independent
if MAS or any other. Just too much for any european operator. :?

You are right about the fact that it’s too big for a European airline! They might of made an order for 20 frames +20 options! But this was 40 + option!

And I am very much sure that there are only smaller jet in the size of 40 that might come from Europe for now!

But since LH is happy with their B737's they will stay around for a while!

As far as I know the order is official, but the airline wants to remain undisclosed for some time ...

The customer is GECAS, so the mystery is still there...

Hi!
This order for 40 A320 family aircrafts is from GECAS! Not a new costumer but a leasing company that might lease the planes to new Airbus operators!

If you followed the live coverage of GECAS A350 order you can hear Noel F.(Airbus CEO ore some thing!?) say; “you need more narrow bodies as well, we take it later” to the GECAS CEO!

So fare the order seems to be LOI! As soon as GECAS finds costumers they convert to order!
