Hi,

Concerning Captain Jack...

No Kleine Brogel nor Zoersel will be necessary for the B744,hereby I can confirm the plans of the expansion of Keiheuvel International as a true gateway to the aviation park !

After opening I will see a big Ryanair Base which will come in place of Eindhoven :)

I won't complain of extra noise and will invite all luchtzakmembers to the opening of the second runway !

2017 will be great in the Kempen

Maybe I must email my plan to some chinese people so they can land chinese air belgians there also!
Think its too weird for 2017 ? Didn't expect air belgian, new vlm, nor Trump as president a year ago

None of these three are officially 'started' yet, although for one of these three, I expect it to become a reality very soon
Good luck with PebbleHill Int'l :)

Passenger wrote:Talking about Amsterdam Airport... A very nice full-black HiFly A340 did positioning flight AB107P from Berlin TXL to AMS this afternoon. Safe landing, but engine n°2 has hit an aviobridge during taxiing at Amsterdam. There is some damage to the cowling, and outgoing OR-341 is now delayed from 16h45 till 08h00.
Nice indeed but could it be that again, again and again the VDGS edited: Visual Docking Guidance Systems) didn't pick up properly the incoming because of its dark colour? OO-SNB Rackham, Royal Jordanian, City Bird back in the days ....
What I don't get is that "normally" if the docking guidance system does not obtain a proper image it displays an error message so that the pilot stops short and a marshaller is called in to guide into the stand.
AMS confirms the VDGS problem you've mentionned for black aircraft. Solution: a marshall iso the VDGS indeed...

Thanks for the info Passenger.
Methinks that airports should read Luchtzak ;) . This problem of dark liveries being difficult to read by some brand of VDGS has been known for +15 years yet still current.
BTW, does anybody know how OO-SNB Rackham is doing lately? Better thanks to the special coating on the nose or systematic requirement for a marshaller?

Thanks.

The Rackham problem was solved through the application of a new layer of reflecting paint.

Russian diplomats expelled from US to be delivered home by special aircraft

Russian diplomats who have been declared persona non grata by the US authorities, will be delivered home by an aircraft from the Rossiya Special Flight Detachment, a source in the Russian Presidential Administrative Department said.

"An aircraft from the Rossiya Special Flight Detachment will be sent to the US to pick up the Russian diplomats and their family members," the source said.

On December 29, Washington slapped new sanctions on Moscow over the alleged hacking into US political institutions. These sanctions apply to several Russian companies, the Federal Security Service and the Main Intelligence Agency of Russia’s General Staff. Besides that, the US authorities expelled 35 Russian diplomats and shut down two Russian compounds, in New York and Maryland. The diplomats have been given 72 hours to leave the country.

According to Russian media, the diplomats may face difficulties in purchasing airline tickets as planes are full because of the holiday season.

Because of the fog in many parts of Europe, Amsterdam Schiphol had three Kenya Airways B787 this afternoon: 5Y-KZA who diverted from Heathrow to AMS, 5Y-KZF who was delayed from yesterday and the normally scheduled 5Y-KZD.
