The FAA issued a new safety directive for all B737 MAX aeroplanes and some other B737 planes to address a potential issue with reduced fire suppression capabilities.

Akasa Airlines of India is in talks with Boeing for buying up to 100 B737 MAX and has reached out to the government to re-certify the aircraft.

Pobeda has cancelled firm contracts for the supply of 20 B737 MAX aircraft, and no penalties are envisaged in the context of the ban on the operation of aircraft in the Russian Federation.

Malaysia has cleared B737 MAX jet to return to its airspace, ending a nearly two-and-a-half-year ban on the aircraft in the Southeast Asian nation.

Singapore becomes the latest Asian country to lift 737 MAX ban. The island state was among the first countries in the world to implement a stringent ban on the type on March 12, 2019.

What about China? I mean I'm pretty sure it is in Asia but have they lifted the ban already?

Boeing's Board of Directors must face a lawsuit from shareholders over two fatal B737 MAX crashes that killed 346 people in less than six months, rules a Delaware judge. Ouch!

Ethiopian Airlines plans to resume B737 MAX flights from January 2022, having reached a settlement with Boeing.

SpiceJet is seeking more discounts on future deliveries of the B737 MAX from Boeing and a meeting in this regard is to take place in the US during at the end of September 2021. The carrier has received only 13 of such planes.

LOT Polish Airlines may take Boeing to court over lack of compensation from the Boeing 737 MAX grounding, as the airline mulls an order for Airbus aircraft.

US federal prosecutors plan to criminally charge a former Boeing pilot they suspect of misleading aviation regulators about safety issues blamed for two fatal crashes of the B737 MAX.

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian is mulling an order for the B737 MAX as it looks to take advantage of any deals in order to reshape its fleet over the next decade.

Genesis of Ireland has entered into an agreement with Boeing to convert two B737-800s into freighters. The first B737-800 BCF will be completed and ready to enter into service in spring 2022 with a second aircraft ready to enter operations in early 2023.

Boeing former chief technical pilot, Mark Forkner, was charged with fraud for deceiving federal regulators evaluating the company’s B737 MAX, says US Department of Justice. :o

In other news, Boeing plans to redesign engine covers on the B777 and B737 jet models that have led to multiple dramatic failures, pending a review by US aviation regulators.
