Etihad is very likely to retire all ten of its A380s, as the carrier intends to focus its operations around the B787.

Airbus is polling airlines that operate the A380 for interest in converting the plane into a combi aircraft, with the top level for passengers and the bottom level for freight.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce believes the airline will reactivate its entire fleet of 12 A380s once the pandemic subsides.

Singapore Airlines A380, MSN 005, has been fully dismantled at Tarbes-Lourdes, after being retired in April 2018. The aircraft is owned by Dr. Peters Group of Germany.

Malaysia Aviation Group has launched a tender for the sale of six A380-800s or their components. Proposals are due by noon on 12 August 2021.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker hints at a small possibility of resuming A380 operations with five superjumbos at most.

Qantas Group plans for an early return of five A380s to meet high demand to Los Angeles and London from mid-2022. A total of 10 A380s with upgraded cabins are scheduled to return to service; two are to be retired.

Emirates will take delivery of its final A380 in November. Originally scheduled for June 2022, all final three deliveries will happen this year. End of the A380 production...

Etihad CEO Tony Douglas says there is a slight chance the carrier could see the return of its A380, should big thick routes come back, load factors get back to high utilisation, and the yield on the ticket gets back.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce says it can fly A380s profitably due to “pent up demand” in Australia for overseas travel, along with limited available slots at London Heathrow and Los Angeles.

British Airways A380 will depart Teruel airport in September 2021, with another A380 due to depart in November 2021.

Lufthansa placed its last A380, serial 070, in storage at Teruel airport.

British Airways A380s reentering service will initially operate to a number of short-haul destinations to allow for crew service familiarisation in November 2021, shortly followed by operating to Miami and Los Angeles in the US, as well as Dubai in December.

ANA All Nippon Airways is set to introduce Mixed Fleet Flying for the A380 and A320 Family following approval by Japan’s Civil Aviation Bureau. ANA is the first operator in the world to introduce the Mixed Fleet Flying between the two types.

Singapore Airlines will return the A380 to passenger service from 18 November 2021 between London and Singapore.

Emirates has signed a contract with Falcon Aircraft Recycling (UAE) on a pioneering initiative, where its first retired A380, MSN 011, will be upcycled and recycled.

Qantas to place the A380 on the Sydney – London route as of 30 October 2022, following the superjumbo placed on the Los Angeles route in late March 2022.
