Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

The FPIC has just 8 teams to work on strategic companies in Belgium, 3 of which are currenlty working on aviation related companies if one is to believe the press reports: number one is B.air, two is TUI Airlines, the third one is ground services, so clearly the number of real strategic companies i...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Careful with your accusations please, we are having a discussion between grownups, there is no right or wrong we have different ideas and try to support them with relevant arguments, this is not a mudd throwing contest. But, of course, I do have proof and a figure: 4 million a year. (https://www.ti...

Fair, but every company/employee in Belgium pays that.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

This is what is happening when you are passionate about the company you are working for, and this is actually what you did too for years when you was working for Ryanair. With that difference that FR is one of the biggest business succes stories of this century. Also, Inquirer always said he didnt ...

I think you still have problems seeing clear when it comes to SN inquirer, You have changed your opinion 100 times over the past years. From "the impressive line up of B tails in the morning" to the "perfect lcc-business blend company" to the "we need eurowings to seperate ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I think many people here are unable to understand the fact some businesses are of STRATEGIC importance to our county's economy and are arguing from the basis of the profitability of the company itself, whereas you really have to look beyond the individual balance sheet for such companies, especiall...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I also don't understand why so many on this forum would like to see SN fail. If SN goes bankrupt, there will not be a new Belgian carrier! Many investors have already burnt their hand once, they will not do it a 2nd time. It's not a question about wanting to see it fail, it is a question off "...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

@sean1982: if and when the governmen/Belfius decides to invest in SN, they'll certainly impose conditions like with the banks in 2008. The most important thing in the aviation sector is to keep the biggest airline of the second biggest employer of SN alive. If that succeeds, the government can stil...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

^^ Obviously I'm talking about the scenario in which LH lets SN go. Then we would be in a situation like Alitalia, that was/is asking the government every year for extra money to keep it afloat. The only way this MIGHT work is to go back to bare minimums, maybe 3 long haul planes for Africa and 15-...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

 Very contributive My personal opinion is that we should let go SN and, eg, invest 1 billion in British Airways in exchange of a Brussels base with 15 to 20 aircraft once we start to come out of this crisis. That would be a better solution for employees, Bru Airport and the taxpayer. :shoc...

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation

I have a lot of respect for those who create jobs in Belgium, even if it comes with foreign money. Absolutely none for narrow minded people we regularly read here. completly agree 737MAX It's very narrow minded to call other people who disagree, narrow minded. Tiens, you do that all the time?

How many of those on that list are not funded by an foreign investment group? Indeed. Just like in many other countries on this planet. Unfortunately some people live on other planets, blame everything that is not 200% belgian but these guys would also not invest 1€ in anything either. I have a lot...

Brussels airlines is not a belgian airlines, they can get their help from germany. Exactly. And some people who now predict how the bankruptcy of Brussels Airlines will be settled, are at job risk themselves. And? I only said that it's weird that the bankruptcy from just one Belgian airline is discussed in this forum: Brussels Airlines. Whilst actually, two other Belgian c...

Hi, Why would LH kill SN.. Corona will just give them the tools they need... Shrinking to the minimum needs to make money... There is money to be made in BRU but with less Planes,People, rules to follow... And government support. We need an airliner and with no other options... No DAT,Virgin anymor...

I’d be curious to know why they’re doing this as well.
I think (dont quote me on it) it is to prevent them from having to be put in long term storage.

Re: [Coronavirus] State aid for (European) airlines ?

The problem with SN is that they chose growth over profitability to fight off the loco's in BRU (which partially worked) but put them on a path of unsustainable growth (which was mentioned here quite a few times). Its a strategy that only works when you have a lot of money in the pocket to start wi...
