Re: Transferring at AMS - any tips?

Alot of us Brits (certainly those of us in the north) like to fly via AMS  Saves the hassle of travelling to, and across, London to go from LHR. Now that BA have axed inflight snacks (and from what I have read passengers are not always given the opportunity to even buy a sandwich on board b...

Re: Transferring at AMS - any tips?

Thanks for answers  I hope we can get through the passport checks quickly. I am looking forward to our little visits to AMS and hope we don't have to spend too long waiting in a queue.

Re: Transferring at AMS - any tips?

I am arriving on a KLM flight from NCL and departing on a KLM flight to WAW. I don't know whether that would mean going through security checks or not. It is the same coming back WAW to AMS and then AMS to NCL. I have heard good things about AMS but I am no longer in contact with people who have tra...

Transferring at AMS - any tips?

We will be transferring flights at AMS for the first time this year and I have no idea what to expect! Does anyone have experience of transferring at AMS? I have 1 hour 25 minutes and would hope to do some shopping - specifically for jenever - can transfer passengers shop for alchohol?

Re: Where will you fly in 2017 ?

Booked my 2017 flights today - a few new experiences for me :-)

NCL-AMS on KLM (never flown on KLM and never transited through AMS)
AMS-WAW on KLM (never been to WAW).

WAW-AMS on KLM
AMS-NCL on KLM.

Four holiday flights instead of two is something to look forward to, even if they're only 737s :-)

Re: KRK-LHR on BA 12 September 2016

Thanks for your comments Andre. I have always enjoyed my flights with BA, even when our luggage didn't accompany us at Christmas 2006 the inflight product and service were very good (hot panini from MAN-LHR for example). My big gripe with BA starting to charge for inflight sandwiches is not just the...

Re: KRK-LHR on BA 12 September 2016

Thanks for your comments Stij. Our train from York goes into Kings Cross, which is on the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow but those Underground trains to Heathrow can get so packed (bad when you have luggage) and take so long that we decided to get the Heathrow Express from Paddington, which is a short ...

KRK-LHR on BA 12 September 2016

We had a great week in Krakow, with mostly good, warm weather. It is a place I would definitely visit again. Our holiday ended on 12th September, and the week seemed to have flown by! We caught the train from Krakow main railway station to the Airport. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v602/snbafan/...

Re: Heathrow-Krakow on British Airways 5 September 2016

Hi, Not meant to be offensive, just to point out about the main focus is on muslims in europe nowadays and the polish are really beaten up in the UK right now, quite a difference,.. Don't see more in this than what I meant to say,.. I can hardly see terrorists as muslims,.. They are just bad, .... ...

Re: Heathrow-Krakow on British Airways 5 September 2016

There were LOT flights operating to and from KRK, I just didn't see the aircraft. I heard the flights being called but the viewing was bad and I only saw the aircraft which I photographed from our plane. I paid to reserve our seats on BA months in advance as I wanted a window seat and knew I wouldn'...

Re: Heathrow-Krakow on British Airways 5 September 2016

Thanks for your comments Andre. To answer your questions - I would say the load factor was 100%. The KRK route is very popular and BA is the only full service carrier operating on the route from Britain. The inflight snack we had was included in the price. BA has a basic free snack included in the f...

Re: Heathrow-Krakow on British Airways 5 September 2016

I liked Krakow, once the weather improved it was sunny all the time and I took more than 600 photos, more than I've ever taken on holiday before. I'd like to see more of Poland, including Warsaw. As Krakow is in the south it is not so well placed for getting to other cities easily. We drunk some Pol...

Heathrow-Krakow on British Airways 5 September 2016

This year we decided to have a holiday in Krakow, after finding out that British Airways had convenient flight times to KRK from Heathrow. This would be our first trip to Poland, and the first time we had flown from LHR, or with BA, since 2006 when our bags didn't accompany us! Our travel to LHR was...
