Re: Belgium 30/01/2012 Strike

In other words : this has got nothing to do with Monday's strike. We already knew that Jet Airways will stay in BRU if they join *A and that they will move to AMS if they join Skyteam. SPL just wants to convince 9W that if they join Skyteam, their best option would be to move their scissorshub to A...

What's the source of your "rumours" ? Post on the AMS-forum about the strike in Brussels (yes, they discuss it): "Bovendien heeft SPL een belang om Jet Airways te pleasen, omdat er al lange tijd geruchten zijn dat Jet Airways zijn vluchten naar SPL verplaatst. Dat hangt allemaal weer...

Re: Belgium 30/01/2012 Strike

Well, tolipanebas has excellent ideas for change. What the government and especially Mr Q did to the flight crew pension scheme is outrageous. They really deserve the hard counteraction suggested by tolipanebas. Who is "they" in "they deserve the hard counteraction" : the govern...

Re: Belgium 30/01/2012 Strike

Allow me to make an honnest remark: I always regarded pilots and air traffic controllers as the most intelligent, most conscientious and most responsible people from the whole travel, tourism, aviation and transport branch. And I still do. To strike “against the government” however is as stupid and ...

Re: Belgium 30/01/2012 Strike

BeCA calls upon all Belgian pilots to join the strike too, because they feel the Belgian government is not willing to take into account the specifics of their profession and thus the need for an earlier retirement age. http://www.standaard.be/Artikel/Detail.aspx?artikelId=DMF20120123_181 If the pro...

Re: Strike of Flightcare baggage handlers at Brussels Airpor

As a rule, I surely am no supporter of strikers - but, on the other hand, for the Brussels Airlines ground staff to break their colleagues' strike is nothing to be proud of (and another time, it could be the other way round). Screwing up the holiday and/or business trip from innocent travellers is ...

The information on Brussels Airport remains the same: "delayed till 11h55".

Does this mean that the flight is delayed till Thursday, 11h55 ?!

Re: Belgium 30/01/2011 Strike

As far as I know, all Belgians are concerned by the Belgian government and its deeds. It's not the airlines, caterers or touroperators that go on strike, it's their people. Well, these people then should do something that hurts only the government and/or Di Rupo, and not the passengers and the whol...

Re: Belgium 30/01/2011 Strike

Between 7 and 15 May 2012, there are social elections in Belgium. As soon as one union thinks that going on strike means "defending the rights of the employees", all others unions will follow. And as usual, they will then take innocent passengers as hostage. The strike of 30 January 2012 a...

Re: Public strike on Thursday 22 Dec: what about BRU?

There is a lot of nonsense published about the pension changes. Example: there are examples on the general decision, and aviation will be one of them. Belgium will - and has - to respect international legislation. But one fact remains: we all live longer then we did 50 years ago, so the pension syst...

Former OO-VEB 733 : runway excursion in Indonesia

OO-VEB is now flying in Indonesia for Sriwijaya Air, as PK-CKM. Today it did a domestic flight from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. PK-CKM landed on a wet runway there and came to a stop " on soft ground about 25 meters past and left of the runway end with the right main gear and the nose gear collapsed...
