Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Hi, Make plans for the next SN is nice but some get to forget one thing.... Planes, crew, staff, slots , everything belongs to LH. If they decide to shut down SN and place some cheap EW planes here to keep the profitable routes going and just dump the rest... They keep their backgarden clean and pre...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
With very inefficient four engine aircraft? Will they even consider switching CRL for the much more expensive BRU? The only advantage I see is you might get some good rates on leasing A330's due to the expected dumping of aircraft, but then again airlines will first dump older machines. If, and tha...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Seems like the lockdown is well respected, going by the many posts on such a beautiful day! 8-) Anyway, reading through all of it, I find this to be a very weird discussion, since the only question that matters is really simple: Do you think it a strategic advantage for our country's economy (and t...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Davignon is right whe saying that SN cannot survive alone, without the support of a major group. I agree, but with the kind of s"support" SN gets from LH, it will not survive either. As for De Croo Jr's statements, do not forget that he come from the same political family as Guy Verhofsta...

De Croo says Brussels Airlines wont be bailed out by the government if they and the LH group don’t come up with a long term survivability plan. https://m.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20200410_04919457?utm_campaign=seeding&utm_content=article&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_term=dso

And still you don't get it's not about emotion, but pure simple money matters. Especially when it is my money too.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Finnair fills its flights mainly thanks to its huge network to Asia. AF ended flights to Helsink, late 2000s. HEL is not served by British Airways, Swiss, Alitalia or Iberia. BA does fly to HEL. Did quite a few overnights there. On another note. Davignon expects support from the state. Pre-liminary...

On 1st February 2020, the official Belgian company registrar BCE / KBO has erased the official address of Aviation Investment Holding, Air Belgium's major shareholder ("erased": adresse radiée / doorgehaald adres). Their siège social / maatschappelijke zetel was: Ruelle Gare de Basse-Wavr...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
It's simple really and should end all dicussions. The EU law is clear, all airlines not following this are in breach. Re-imbursment should be offered , without delay. Not hidden in thousand pages. Point. Testaankoop I believe is also on this https://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/headlines/society/2...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Let's see what happens - almost the full industry is trying to direct customers to a rebooking and/or voucher solution (some more extreme than others - like always). An increasing amount of EU governments is supporting the no/delayed refund position of their airline industry (e.g. Germany supportin...

Which is also forbidden. First of all it is misleading to not point out clearly what the options are and how to receive a refund. Secondly, delaying compensation to whenever it suits the air carrier is NOT allowas, no matter what IATA says. The law has not changed.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Funny that is again, you cant resist the personal touch is it. How was the vinegar in your coffee this morning? I thought the advantage to the economy was the fact of belgian airlines providing 4 jobs per flight, where foreign airlines only provide one? On that matter, TUI's fleet is only a bit smal...

I can understand that many people here don't like Brussels Airlines because they work for a competitor airline. But for some people here, it's not just I don't like them , but I really hate them ". A forum is freedom of speech, sure. But then, don't call yourself "grown-up". And don'...

Unlike you however, I wasn't dancing from hapiness with the decisions SN took and takes. No you weren't to say the least, to the point you seem to be able to quote verbatim what was said years ago; a bit inconsistent with somebody who's not into it well beyond all rationale like you claim, don't yo...

its gonna have to be a lot to offset the 60 million euro anyway that was not repayed on the 125 million EUR https://www.madeinvlaamsbrabant.be/nieuws/verkoop-van-brussels-airlines-kost-60-miljoen-euro/ Now they are asking for another 200 million which certainly was a preliminary figure, how much of...
