Re: Cebu A320 Landing Incident, Passengers (Not) Evacuated
I am not saying it is ok, just that it is not surprising. Then again, just saying 'yeah no surprise there' is not a very constructive criticism. I'm not sure I get what you mean in your last sentence. All the people that answered your thread are almost all crewmembers and all for different airlines...

Re: Cebu A320 Landing Incident, Passengers (Not) Evacuated
What makes you think the crew should have ordered an evacuation? When do you think an evacution is ordered? When you're at the commands and your aircraft slides off the runway and the gear collapses, then chances are one or both engines are damaged as well. Is there a fire or not? You can not asses...

Re: Cebu A320 Landing Incident, Passengers (Not) Evacuated
The crew on board followed the protocol??? Is it the industry standard NOT to evacuate an aircraft in such a situation? These are real comments made by Cebu Pacific management. UNBELIEVEABLE in this day and age how they even dare to say things like that in public just to downplay the incident and a...

Cebu A320 Landing Incident, Passengers (Not) Evacuated

So in other words the airliner flew four miles off course because the pilot was playing with his iPhone and got distracted?

Re: Passenger claims Emirates A380 door opened in flight
Once again the press loves to exaggerate everything. What happened is what's called a "slow decompression". The so-called "explosion" is a loud bang, pretty much like the opening of a coke bottle but 1000 times louder, followed by a very deafening and loud whistling sound. The re...

Re: Airbus said to plan a factory in US
Well, there is one "little" detail that seems to be forgotten. There is a condition attached to this deal: Americans were always criticizing their own airlines for buying "foreign" aircraft and not supporting their own "national" aircraft industry (such as Boeing) and c...

Re: 9W plans global ops in MUC, move out of BRU possible
Jet Airways would change it's hub to any city in Europe if it could get a better (airport) deal somewhere else. Wouldn't you do the same if you had an airline and you could get cheaper landing slots somewhere else? Of course you must also keep in mind the (code-share) agreements you have or could ha...

Re: Simultaneous usage of 3 runways at BRU?
Using all runways is not unusual. It can be for many reasons.: 1) If the winds are not too strong then there is no problem using both runways 20 or 25R for take-off 2) It can also depend on the destination of the aircraft. Flights heading east for example would take a short cut by using runway 20 in...

Brussels to Antwerp on a Sabena Boeing 737-200 (OO-SDA) in the late 70's, barely touching the clouds with the left wing before descending again on this 12 minute flight and this for 480 Belgian Francs (or 11.89 Euro), all in.
