You can hear about this problem here, in french:

Liège-Charleroi flight

jet4you will start next week a flight between Casablanca and both Liège and Charleroi airport. Why ? Because the track is too short in Charleroi (2550m) to take off to Calablanca with a full tank, so they make a short trip to Liège (84 km !!), pick some pax, fill the tank, and then go to marocco (tr...

Hum, will they also update the road signs to the airport? When I was still living & working in Brussels, many of my international colleagues thought there were 2 major airports in Brussels. Brussels National & Zaventem. I had to explain many times that same airport is named differently on B...

That's great ;)

But i'm sure Ryanair will fly to marocco also from charleroi ... as soon as the new terminal is ready.

I'm a bit surprised to see both Liège and Charleroi. Why not ... we'll see which one works better.

See the topic, belgium is not only brussels.
We have 3 or 4 airports that could host easyjet.
I'm surprised Belgium isnt more interesting for them.

Fox is certainly the last media to trust.
See the documentary "outfoxed" ...

And yes, i'm sure the paranoia we have now is completely useless and ridiculous, it's just make to keep the people in a high level of fear, it's easyer to justify the wars in progress in the middle east.

This news is going in the same direction than this one : TNT and SAB, the operator of Liège airport, have signed an agreement extending until 2036 the convention they signed in 1996 for the use by TNT of buildings and land situated at Liège airport. TNT will expand its activities and invest 36 milli...

I think Zaventem is very important in the success of the flemish economy. Move that south and everything can change ... again. (If I have to suggest an airport, it would be Liege ... only 40 min away by train from brussels, this is less than in some big international cities. And that airport is read...

earthman, Lille (Rijsel) is not Liege (Luik) :) Yes, they could and should use liege airport much more when CRL is out of order. It's only 45 min by bus and liege has also a very good infrastructure. It would be very easy for them to organise a transfert, but it's obvious that they do not want to us...

foxtrot_lima_yankee,

all you say is right also for liege airport, exept that there is already a new terminal, a long track and it's not in a rural area. So it's even better ;)

But yeah, liege is 2hours away from brugges, so its a bit too far ;)
