JAA,FAA, and Airbus have concluded wake study, and have recommended additional spacing.

Ah yes; but only for following aircraft on approach and landing.
In spite of the way Airbus may have tried to spin the other component as a positive, it was expected that the recommendations would only ...

Reports are that the plane tried to take off the wrong runway, and based on the position of the wreckage its hard to see how this could not be the case.

There also is an article quoting the owner of the farm where the plane crashed in which he says the following.

The owner of the farm where ...

Frontier Airlines expect to confirm service to Calgary soon

I thought the following article was quite interesting, and it apparently confirms at least one of Denver Colorado based Frontier Airlines' first Canadian destinations. Mr. Beddoe is the CEO of Westjet.

Mr. Beddoe also welcomed Frontier Airlines Inc., the Denver-based low-cost carrier, to the ...

More specific info on what sort expansion plans Frontier Airlines is looking at.

Potter would not reveal where in Canada the carrier plans to fly or how many cities it will serve. But he did say Frontier is considering five cities that would attract a mix of business and leisure passengers ...

Frontier Airlines may fly to Canada soon. (By May 24th.)

There was a new article in the local paper today in which they interviewed Frontier Airlines' CEO Jeff Potter. While the article was generally talking about what Frontier Airlines' reaction to Southwest Airlines now flying to Denver is with various fairly vague comments by Jeff Potter, there was the ...

IIRC the Tristars, which do commonly have galleys off main deck, in the belly, have catering door in the galley.

A galley in the attic of a B747-8 might have trouble with catering doors... How does food normally get up to the upper deck galley of B747?
This is the one awkward element of such a ...

the argumentation at the end of the article from seattle-pi is very interesting. to me it sounds like "it is not a bug, but it is a feature"-story if they say:

"Anything Airbus does with the A380 to match this," he said of the 747-8 Sky Suites, means they lose seats. "No other plane but the 747 ...

747ADV Officially launched!

The Boeing Company today officially launched the new Boeing 747-8 program, which includes the 747-8 Intercontinental passenger airplane and the 747-8 Freighter airplane.

Cargolux, based in Luxembourg, has ordered 10 747-8 Freighters and will take delivery of the first 747-8F in third-quarter 2009 ...

Re: Boeing plans to debut B747AV by the end of the year

http://money.cnn.com/2005/10/21/news/fortune500/boeing.reut/index.htm

But it is only 6% more fuel efficient than the 747-400. I wonder who is gonna operate this plane with this little improvement in fuel efficiency to carry passengers. A380 is 12% better than B747-400 so B747AV cannot compete with ...

It would be funny if Emirates pushed Boeing to stretch the 787, and then simply go and order 100 A350s 8) ..
Most likely Boeing wouldn't go forward with a streached 787 right now unless Emirates signs on as a launch customer.

If you look part of the way down on a airliner.net thread on the same ...

While Boeing can (seemingly) quite easily introduce the 747Adv, Airbus can also similarly, quite easily introduce a longer A340 or a smaller A380... And probably the question to Boeing is, are there so many buyers?? At the end, airlines would probably benefit but the losers will be both Boeing and ...

Frontier Airlines to be featured in new reality show!

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker for awhile and I finally decided to register on this site.

I personally follow Frontier Airlines quite a because while I may currently be in college in Southern California, I grew up in the Denver area and definately keep track of the regional aviation news.

Based ...
