SABENA branded mugs etc. ...
I remember a couple of years ago a guy who purchased quite a lot of SABENA stuff from the liquidation administrator after the airline went bancrupt. Despite having watched out for this stuff in recent years at memorabilia shows (even at Zaventem) I couldn´t find anything left or even the guy who tri...

Re: Flying again ... what about you?
Just returned from my first trip since February 2020 ... Booked a package holiday for the first time in my life. (withTUI in this case) Usually I organise my travels completely by myself but decided for an - almost - fully organized trip this time. Due to the actual circumstances I had looked around...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
So it looks like Belgium is offering Lufthansa version after version of a deal and Lufthansa is not taking any, only complaining about it through Vranckx and their PR people that the deal has to be structurally the same as the other deals, etc..., while Austria got a better deal. The Belgian govern...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
So what was the situation in Zurich? Do you expect the Swiss to have less ressources, or as their experience with Lufthansa to good and successfull? My mistake. Had my comment edited a few times and thought I had the "Zürich" deleted from the final context ... The government in Vienna cer...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Makes me wonder if the government is willing (and able) to set up a new carrier if LH is serious this time.
I suspect LH does underestimate the Belgian government ...
... and the government in Brussels is likely not in the same situation as in Vienna and Zürich.

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
There is a Possibility that both would start serving the route simultanously but it´s not too likely IMHO. We don´t know what the "big players" in the background have in mind and how much support Air Antwerp and Sun Air will get from KL/WX or BA respectively. I don´t see both carriers oper...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
It is rather surprising considering that KLM and City Jet are involved. Both carriers are experienced and certainly know all requirements ... Maybe the Belgian authorities are a "bit slow". Just thinking - I´m not blaming them since we don´t know how limted their staff resources in the rel...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Weird, maybe they are late to load the flights in their booking system? (hoping) Don´t think so. BE is still underway in its restructuring and that route is not the last one to go for sure. They likely have set a comparably high threshold (for keeping a route) where ANR-LGW just doesn´t perform as ...

Re: Air Belgium in 2019
"Who would have guessed that outcome" By - once again - cancelling their flights to HKG they have lost that tiny little bit of credibility that was left. Even if they'd eventually make another attempt I would not consider booking them. Period. When Mrs MHG and I fly to Asia we alway...

Re: Some recent SkyTeam experiences
Having to wait in a freezing railway station is a big no-no for me, too. But - who asked you to wait at the railway station all the time rather than spending at least the major part of the waiting time in the terminal ? Despite there are very few seating possibilities @ CDG in any terminal it´s stil...

Re: Lufthansa is trying to sue passengers for skiplagging
There is much more to it than visible at first sight - and communicated in most media. In that particular case it was easy for LH to have proof of the passenger intentionally skipping the last leg. That passenger had booked a corresponding one-way ticket with LH on a separate booking for FRA-TXL fit...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Maybe Chalair? I flew them numerous times to GVA From ANR .. excellent flights But were almost always empty. I guess that they lost a lot of money operating out of ANR. Maybe LCY Will bring them back? Unlikely because their aircraft are too small (Beech1900D / max. 19 seats) for the ANR-LCY market....

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Could the DO328J be seen in ANR soon? I guess the DO328Jet is faster that the ATR72 and that could explain the flight time... Only in case Sun Air decides to tap into ANR market ... At least their recently started domestic flights from FDH (Friedrichshafen/Germany) are operated by their Do328-300 (...
