There is a white Boeing 727 standing at Abelag right now, air traffic was stopped for +- 10 minutes this afternoon so the 727 could land on runway 07L.

Should be this one: B727 carrying Togo's president, declared emergency landing; fearing he was out of fuel.

Van der Meerschen feliciteert wel de piloot om zijn koelbloedigheid, wat ook Viselé doet. Touwaide doet dit ook, maar wijst er op dat het vliegtuig "met een minder ervaren piloot gecrasht was ".

They could always just add a new runway at BRU a bit remote from the current ones, takes a long way to taxi, but at least it's a bit further. Like the Polderbaan at AMS, takes 15 minutes to taxi to the gate after touchdown.

I think this is imposible here, given the density of population ...

Hello,

Actually,

Arrival on rwy 07R,
Departure on rwy 07L.

Indeed, and I find it very surprising that the use of 07R for arrivals is occuring more and more these days. Untill 2006, this was very very rare but in the last copple of weeks it happend several times!

On the contrary, noise is a very subjective issue!

For example:

I live in Diegem, directly under the 25R flightpath and with 90% of the weekly departures, but you won't hear me complaining about the noise.

Other surrounding regions/inhabitants of the airport (much further away from the airport ...

a correct phonic insulation of the houses in that area.
Too simple?

not really an easy task IMO: where will you draw the frontiers to determinate which areas will be insulated? How can you objectively measure noise and determine if someone suffers from it?

I think a possible insulation ...

The association wants the respect of international rules demanding that landing and take off be made into wind.
The association is for the use mainly of 25R ...

Due to dominant winds from SW, the Noordrand would of course be at a disadvantage, but this is the least populated area around the airport. It should not be too difficult to pay them a good phonic insulation, as the walloon region is doing for Liège.
