To connect 200 airports with each other there should be about 20000 routes flown by relatively large aircraft, like the Dreamliner. I am surprised that more Western countries did not operate the YAK, or at least an equivalent. I suppose in their way they must be more environment-friendly with their ability to operate from places which do not even have a runway (no need to surface everything with tarmac).
