Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
On https://sites.google.com/view/europeanairlinefleets/bel a 12th A330 appeared for 2026. Even if this is not official yet, the person/organsisation behind this page is most of the time (not always) really well informed. From what I heard lately, one of the plan on the network could be to add frequ...

Re: BRU Winter 2024-2025: News, new routes, airlines
Same for Vueling and Transavia. When they see the huge demand in Belgium to fly to the Mediterranean, they will do. Think international, it brings so much more. Don't blame those carriers, blame the Belgian labor costs. "It brings so much more". What exactly, and to who? I will tell you. ...

Re: BRU Winter 2024-2025: News, new routes, airlines
Nothing to do with it. But if the own airline, and it's even not a Belgian airline but a German one 😉, cannot do it, don't sit in the corner and cry. Business is business and if there are others who can fill the gap bcs there is a huge demand, why not? Why refuse them? Free market. BTW, Virgin Expr...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
According to a newer interview with Aerotelegraph the remaining A330 from LH should migrate to Discover. So, let's see if SN's growth ambition may be fueled by external A333 If they maybe cannot come from LH itself, maybe from their other "partner" Singapore Airlines. SN had in the past a...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
Also Brussels Airlines will fight against the new environment permit for the airport. They will go to the council for permit disputes. According to SN the Flemish government made the wrong decision regarding restrictions about noise and the block for growing as from 2032. According to SN the new per...

Ryanair news in 2024
As I don't see a specific topic, I created this one about Ryanair. As certain people complain that SN abandoned Bordeaux, well today Ryanair announced that they will close their Bordeaux base as from 2024. 90 people will lose their job and 40 destinations are affected. Reason: the airport became to ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
SN's shareholders were so naive in the end in their selling strategy that a smart LH managed to buy it for peanuts. It allowed them to sideline competition at BRU at a minimal cost which in turn would be offset by flying Belgian passengers to LH's main hubs. For that purpose it has kept SN on a lif...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
On a slightly positive note, in the interview obe referred us to, Boxberg's answers had much more substance than previously. She has learned, but is still under the orders of the Big Boss. Ohh yes, he decide. First profit. But you can't make profit or bigger profit if you don't invest. And I mean r...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Initially it was a good idea. But good ideas can turn into a nightmare when a new boss takes over. The new boss took over. Kept SN and BRU very small but forgot to cover the East part of Germany. Over the border in Poland you have a very strong player LOT, also Star Alliance, and is expanding each ...

Well, the good news is that OO-SFC is back from MAN where she spent more than 3 months. I saw her arriving on Saturday evening, still wearing the classic BeeLine livery. It s not beacause an aircraft is not flying that it's free to go somewhere else to be painted. OO-SFP is simply having some work done to be ready to integrate the SN fleet. No there is no time to go to the paintshop, this aircraft is needed at the homebase asap D-AIKG was flying at SN before it wen...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OO-SFP (D-AIKG) should be transfered to BRU this week. She will keep her Lufthansa livery with Brussels Airlines sticker untill winter when she will go to the paint shop. D-AIKG was really some time out of roulation. First maintenance but after a couple of weeks just standing in DUS. Could that tim...
