Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2023
An unusual visitor in Brussels this morning. A Thai Airways A330-300. Thai no longer has scheduled flights to Brussels and certainly not in the A330-300. What was even more unusual is that Thai Airways only has 3 remaining A330-300 aircraft in it's fleet : HS-TEN, HS-TEO and HS-TEP but all 3 aircraf...

Hongyuan Group, the largest shareholder of Air Belgium (49%), selects Israel Aerospace Industries to convert eleven Boeing 777-300ERSF along with options for nine more. Redeliveries are expected to begin in 3Q 2024 for onward placement with Air Belgium and Jiangxi Cargo Airlines (China). Unfortunat...

Re: Lufthansa in 2022
Is LH trying to use SN and/or its other affiliates to help mitigate the impact of the strike on their passengers? By re-routing them through their other hubs whenever possible, for instance? That would be a logical way to handle a strike although the unions wil not agree I'm sure. The reality is wh...

Very nice Samuel, it will replace the A319 C-FZUH who had been wearing those colours since 1997 ever since the aircraft was delivered new to Air Canada. C-FZUH has now been retired.

OO-AIR (A330-200) ex-A7-AFG was parked at position 695 in Brussels, just like OO-CMA, and departed at exactly 12 noon (11:00Z) and landed in Dublin at 12:15Z.

Re: Air Belgium in 2021
Why else would they go through the trouble to remove all the Qatar titles and logos if the aircraft would be fully repainted? I'm quite sure QR will never let another airline fly with its livery, the aircraft is not owned by QR anymore. Even if it's going straight to the paint shop (with a stopover...

Re: Air Belgium in 2021
I would not be surprised if OO-CMA and even the 3 remaining A330 aircraft to be delivered would remain in these (Qatar) colours, especially when a new repaint is not yet necessary. This is not unusual, especially for cargo aircraft. Why else would they go through the trouble to remove all the Qatar ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Brussels Airlines's plan is to reduce the total amount of early morning arrivals into Brussels (the so-called nightstop-reduction), and to let its African fleet depart later. In my opinion, this is NEVER going to work. Indeed, that is not a good idea to cancel the night stops, first of all for the ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
On that part of BigJets' post, you have got a point. But I remember that in the last years of sabena's life, it was considered to delocate pilots to Luxembourg (to save on taxes and social contributions, I presume). I don't know if 25 years later, that would still be advantageous (and legal) Yes, i...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
You couldn’t be more wrong! Social contributions in France are a lot higher than in Belgium, around 30% for employees and 40% for employers. Part of the social contributions are not even deductible from the gross income, so pilots pay 45% tax on part of the social contributions. And before anyone b...
