If it really is a matter of competition, AA , CO or NWA would be a more convincing candidate.

AA and Qantas are both OneWorld members so it would be interesting to see how that one would pan out. Do any airlines operate the 777 between LAX and Australia?? If not then we could eliminate CO and AA ...

How are they doing on the Melbourne route?
As I can remember they fly it with B777-200ER.

Normally it's VIE - KUL - SYD and VIE - BKK - MEL if I remember correctly. The flights are very well booked - as said before, OS is the only airline besides BA and is feeded by its SA partners on this route ...

believe its quite healthy and with BA pulling out of melb OS is the only european airline in here...so less competition will be good for them, revert back to 767 ops soon as thats what i'm flying on when i come back to europe.
