Tommy,

The SLR Monbasa-Zanzibar flights are flown with the 767's OO-SLR and OO-SLS and performed with entire SLR crews.

Tommy,

I'll ask my wife tomorrow. She's flying long haul on SLR and is supposed to know every thing about that.

Matt, Depends to the fotolab you go to to put the pictures on CD ROM, but mostly not higher than 150 to 200dpi. (Good for a 10x15 or 13x18 print) in .jpg file. You always can ask -in prof fotolab's- for a high resolution scan -as I do sometimes- but these scan's -for one single slide or negative- co...

Even as a "professional" photographer for me it's difficult to answer your questions. Most important about which camera and which lenses is, how much you want to spend for your equipment. I can give you some very good advises, but if I tell you about the price tag, you will think I'm crazy...

Bart, It would be nice if all our members could be there wearing all a "Luchtzak" T-shirt to recognize eachother. :D The second spotters meeting would be fine too to meet, but "unfortunately" I won't be in Belgium at that time. I'll be on air show tour in the USA as crew member o...

I don't think you will have problems with camera's. Was there yesterday and everybody is walking around with camera's. Don't know how it will be on the public days, but as "normal" visitor it's very hard to get some good pictures, close to the runway. In the static although there is much l...

EBOS, I agree that the Canon D10 is a good camera, but the evolution is digital photography is going so fast that I wonder if in 10 years we still will work with the same camera's. 10 years ago digital photography was almost unexcisting, look were we are now, and the end of the evolution isn't yet i...

Filip, You can find all the information about digital camera's on www.dpreview.com One thing you surely have to watch for when you buy a camera is the "shutter lag" This is the time between the moment you push the button, and the time the camera takes the picture. In "normal" pho...

JC, That 3 ship flight was indeed one with some very good pictures. Yes, I'm "retired" since January 1st but still very active in aviation photography, especialy in the USA, and also busy to start up my own photo agency : IAPA (International Aviation Photography Agency) I ain't aware of an...

JC, Nice pictures. As I saw also a "selfportret" token in an A-Jet ? and a picture from an A-Jet in flight I suppose that you've been in the Air Force before. So it's possible that we even flew together during some photomissions when we booth were in the Air Force. Regards, Twan, the happy...

Sorry for the wrong information.
There is NO B 767 from SOBELAIR in TUI colours.
The OO-SLT is flying in DCA colours and two B-737 (a B737-300 and a B737-400 are flying in the blue/red TUI jet Air colours

I agree that the original colours of SOBELAIR are much nicer.
But this is flying publicity for TUI / Jet Air and I think that SOBELAIR, has -in these difficult days of the company- no choice and has to be convenient to the "whishes" of the tour operators.

The beach section just in front of the runway of St Maarten is, or better WAS a good spotting place.
For security reasons, this section is now closed-off for public access.

One of the SLR B 767 is flying indeed in a blue/red TUI livery.
I'll ask my wife, -she's flying on that aircraft- about the registration.
I guess it's the OO-SLT, but I'll confirm this later on.

Meerkat, The Schaffen Fly-In is indeed cancelled for this year because some trees in the extention of the runway which caused the accident last year. If you have nothing to do for today and tomorrow, you still can go to the SV-4 fly-in at Deurne. Of course not as big as Schaffen but with good weathe...
