Condor 767 takes Thomas Cook for his friend

It´s all nicely covered in the UK newspapers and aviation forums.

A Condor 767 Captain on the way over the North Alantic talked over radio with his friend ,onboard a Company aircraft ahead, on his last flight before retiring.
As they relied on TCAS aircraft postion to identify each others position ...

To be a bit more precise.
The LTU A330 had a technical problem after pushback. The parking brake wouldn´t release.
Olympic elected to push back after all and hit the horizontal stabelizer.

Dumm gelaufen.

A330 was talking of in DUS for a flight to Bejing. One engine was hit by birds causing high engine vibritions and an initial tail pipe fire.
Crew shut down the engine and after no further problems elected to enter the holding for further investigation and ecam/checklist procedures.
When aircraft was ...

Altough I like the F-50 as an ex-F50 driver I don´t understand why they sold the legendary P3.
I think a P3 suits the job better.

A crack in the window often seems worse then it really is.

As an ex A/P mechanic I remember a period between 1997 and 1999 when a lot of AVRO RJ´s had cracked windshields.(occasionally I remember some on the F-50 also) Most of them were caused by delamination or bad sealing. Water got in between ...

Pitty. I saw the P3 flying out of San Bernadino (CA) in 1999.
An extra blow for the reputation of the tankers.

Sad :(

No bad visibility in FS2004

Does somebody has experience with the fact that in FS2004, whatever visibility I insert, I only end up with objects turning grey but visibilty almost remaining unchanged.

Any help or comments welcome.

Thanks

Nette Leute, die Jungs von Spanair

War vorgestern auf Palma (PMI). Fluglotze hatte wenig separation gelassen.

Sociale uitbuiting?

Repairing composites takes more time and effort before the A/C can be airborne again. Nice from Boeing they dare to take this step.
The belly of an aircraft is a vunerable part taking hits from ground equipment all to often.
I´m sure the Boeing engineers have thought about this.
