They should have kept the S from Sabena instead of the ugly "b".
The "S" is part of our Belgian heritage and symbolysis one of the oldest airline companies in the world.
Keeping the "S" would also pay tribute to all employees who once worked for Sabena and are still very proud of it.
Poor Belgium ...

This is a good initiative ! Airports need to allign to the service level offered by airlines. This is why there are also "low cost" airports being build for "low cost airlines.

They flew the Citybird MD11 under the Citybird FOM and under the authority of the Citybird Director of Operations.

Depending on the condition of the FDR/CVR it might take weeks, even months before the findings are made public.

Collecting the data is one thing, analyzing the data and re-producing the real accident using the FDR/CVR data, meteo data, runway contamination data, ground radar data and witness ...

Dont forget that these aircraft (and pilots) are under severe stress during fire fighting ops and that they mostly operate in gusty winds (tramontane and mistral) at very low altitudes.

Again, its all about ROI so lets stay with both feet on the ground...the satellite will not be used for pax / flt ops in the near future.

I think we should not speculate.

Dedicate the satellite for US flights will generate many costs for:
- adapting the access to the building
- additional security
- additional staff
- adapting all the gates to wide-body aircraft
- etc, etc.

Generating costs is only possible if there is a real return ...

For your info: only the "old terminal" has been proclaimed as "national monument", not the satellite.

It is indeed a fact that there is more than enough capacity available with the A and the B-pier for the time being...

They don't know yet what to do with the satelite. However, it will "survive" for the time being.
Who knows, one day this building might become a terminal for charter ops only (in many other airports, there is a dedicated charter terminal).
