This is the reason they conduct such testing: to discover aspects in the design that are not yet fail-safe. Only normal some things pop up, I prefer that this happens in a test-phase rather than later on in flight with pax on board.

If I'm not mistaken, the article says that the A380's evacuation plan (# of exits,...) was designed while keeping in mind the maximum possible number of pax on board for the total 380-concept.. So I guess the extra doors won't be necessary, that the situation is taken into account.
