I try to avoid hugh aircraft because check-in line ups, boarding-deplaning takes more time, customs clearance can take forever (NRT, JFK, LHR to name a few), miss your flight at connection hubs (DXB, SIN, CDG, ORD to name a few) ... etc.
So your problem is not big aircraft, but bad organised ...

That's life. I remember that demand between 1974-1982 was so great, they could not keep up adding new flights. Ticket prices out of Saudi Arabis and the Gulf countries were the most expensive and in some instances, they used to run out of first class before economy. One thrid of the seats on SAUDIA ...
