Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
As a passenger point of view, this airline (SN) is nothing more than a plaything in LH's hands... There is no real long-haul network. Fortunately, other airlines serve Brussels, and CDG and AMS are within easy reach.
BRU is in the middle of LHR, AMS, FRA, CDG. The far more logical question is ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
If you use search machines, you can get the operational numbers of Edelweiss and Discover and the sources.
Indeed, it is not comparable if you count that they don't have the risk of the feeding networks. But this leads to the discussion of fleet allocation and the remark on why eg Discover is ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Well, let's see things from another angle.
Where does Brussels want to make money? What is the clear business model?
A classic networker would earn the yield on long haul and loose some money on the feeders. Is this an adequate assumption for Brussels business which is focused on Africa, a low ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The whole point of business is making money. With that in mind, it is only logical given the decline of 50% in EBIT (-70mio vs -48 mio previous year) that the planned fleet expansion is halted. Or at least, that is yet again how it is presented.
If one looks closely at the figures:

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
From Lufthansa Group's Capital markets Day presentation, slide 73:
"Introduction of Next Gen A/C in all Group airlines by 2030"
Indicated on the same slide that the decision is still to be made between 787 and A350, but part of the fleet in 2030.
No surprise on the replacement candidates, but the ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
Due to the delay introducing the 12th A330, there is an alternative growth plan rumoured:
2026:
-Washington will not return, A/C can be used for growth on the existing destinations (and thus continuing expansion as planned)
-United increasing frequency from Washington, possibly even double daily ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2025
Load factor on both flights was less than 120pax, so this is not the reason... A couple of months ago a similar rotation was in the schedule.
Reason unknown....

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-KJK-LGG-OST in 2025
Hi,
SFF is grounded because of an hydraulic problem, scheduled to return as SN1465 tomorrow morning. Today 10 scheduled flights of which SN515 (IAD) is cancelled, so a second aircraft has tech issues and must stay in BRU for MX.
Best regards

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Hi,
I can confirm it was there this morning (while yesterday it certainly was not yet the case), and apparently has since been removed. 4 A350-900, between 2027 and 2029, no MSN indicated or registration indicated. There has been a lot of speculation about the fate of 4 ex-PR birds (and ...
