Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
I was thinking the same the last couple of days.
The history is repeating itself. We have a super great SS26 in front of us, but several wars, high fuel prices, etc can destroy a great season.
We had the same when Covid came.
Of course, a lot of airlines and airports will suffer, but when we ...

Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
On a side note, also Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong are doing very good.
Do you have data? I flew CX to HKG in C early December and the cabin was full but I don't think the plane was. I flew SQ from SIN in PE last weekend and that cabin was less than 1/2, C seemed very spaced out, only Y ...

Re: BRU Winter 2026 - 2027: news, new routes, airlines
Etihad seems to be on an expansion drift and sending 321LRs throughout major European airports to beef up frequency. Wouldn’t be surprised if also Brussels will soon get a 2nd Daily frequency with the 321LR considering they are already sending one of their highest capacity aircrafts into Brussels ...

Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
It Seems like Beijing will be Daily and Chengdu 3x weekly. That is 10x/weekly new flights in Total to China. This seems very optimistic to me and I am pretty sure Hainan will suffer a lot from this. Their service is obviously much better than Air China, but they can’t offer many connevtions and ...

Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Some thoughts:
- Halifax is really a head scratcher for me, for sure as it is only their second transatlantic destination from there. If they wanted to launch a third destination from BRU, I would expect Ottawa or Quebec City to make much more sense. I assume it is a way for Air Canada to increase ...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Thanks to early information, Air China is expected to launch Beijing on January 2nd, 4x weekly.
CA963 would arrive in BRU at 20:20 and leave as CA964 at 22:00, which would be the latest long-haul flight from the airport.
This also means PEK would become double-daily (with Hainan Airlines) on ...

Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Brussels Airlines joining the JV of Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines would be a good opportunity for SQ to increase its flights to daily I believe. Is it an indication that SQ is quite happy with its performance in BRU?

Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Seems like UA will announce their summer schedule tomorrow. Let's see if BRU gets a 5th Daily flight from them or not.
For now, BRU-IAD is at least still bookable through SN.

Seems like JFK-BRU is still not bookable for Summer 2026 though. Let’s hope this connection will still return for 2026.
Weird. It used to be bookable.
it's bookable...from 7 till 12 of May...I booked on SN website a direct flight BRU JFK with SN !
I was referring to Delta’s JFK-BRU ...

Re: BRU Summer 2025: news, new routes, airlines
Quick reminder, as from next week Friday, 1st Aug, Cathay will start up flights to BRU with the A350
Took the flight for the first time, excellent service, full in Economy, 90% in Premium Economy and more or less 50-60% in Business.
Considering it was a HKG to BRU flight while most of the ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
Due to the delay introducing the 12th A330, there is an alternative growth plan rumoured:
2026:
-Washington will not return, A/C can be used for growth on the existing destinations (and thus continuing expansion as planned)
-United increasing frequency from Washington, possibly even double ...

Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
If I remember well, Bamako was already served by SN.
Also a completely new destination for SN but there was some time ago a rumor that SN would fly to Kilimanjaro. Not sure if they still think about it.
Kilimanjaro would make a lot of sense as they could tag it on to well established ...

Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Seems like the 2nd EWR flight from UA is bookable next year as from the start of the Summer Season (29/03) instead of June.
Also, Air Canada’s YYZ flight seems to be 4 weekly from the start instead of 3 weekly, all with 789.

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
I guess, the development of BRU will only go through the development of SN...which is, in my opinion, underway! Slowly but underway..
Exactly. SN is growing with a rate of 1 long haul plane per year. UA and also AC will follow those steps.
All I can say is, keep an eye on 2026, 2027 and 2028 ...

I believe Thai is doing just fine. Took the flight 4 times and 4 times the flight was over 90% full.
I am a bit more worried about Singapore Airlines tho. The few times ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
With the renewal of the LH cabins planned as from 2027, is it also on the table to introduce some lower density configurations (more C and Y+ Seats)?
