Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Lufthansa has decided to discontinue its CityLine subsidiary and ground its fleet of 27 CRJ regional jets.

What stands out even more, however, is the related announcement: Discover Airlines will receive 9 additional A350-900 aircraft earlier than planned.

Meanwhile, there is still no update or ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Starting June 3, 2026, Brussels Airlines will launch a new route to Kilimanjaro, with 2 weekly flights.
It will become the airline’s fifth destination in East Africa, after Nairobi, Entebbe, Kigali and Bujumbura.

On paper, it looks like a logical move: diversification, tourism, and prestige.
But I ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Just take a look at these beautiful fictional images from MFS…
It’s nice to dream a little, though we have to keep our feet on the ground.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

A mix of A321LR with 339(if possible second hand)could be a good option?
It's still one long haul type, the 321 is from the 320 family.

Right about leasing, but SN must break away from short-term strategies. Operating second-hand aircraft over 10 years old leads to higher maintenance costs ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

It seems OO-SFC left for Chateauroux (this morning), while OO-SFQ is still in Woensdrecht, and OO-SFH is in maintenance in BRU (not sure what that means), and a fourth one (OO-SFE) had a window broken due to a hail storm ... :(

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Here’s some information:

- A319 OO-SSF is on its way back to Brussels from a maintenance check (MX) in Newquay this morning (08/04).
- Indeed, the A330-300 D-AIKM, which will soon be re-registered as OO-SFQ, arrived in Châteauroux yesterday (07/04) for paint-shop (thankfully, no unusual OO-SFP-like ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Atlantis,

almost 100% correct.
We can't handle more aircraft because of these new boardingbridges, the number stays the same.

Almost, almost 😃😉 Maybe wrongly expressed but the rotation time will be lower.

And to add also, it double your gate capacity. With the MARS concept now ...

Re: BRU Summer 2025: news, new routes, airlines

We will know it soon. In the next comings days or weeks they gonna decide/announce it.

Even if it's negative, they'll announce it?

It's pretty sure they will.

Either Air China or Hainan Airlines.

Since it has become complicated for European airlines to fly to China due to Russia ...

Yes, it's the wish of the Diamond traders. They contacted Air India, asking them to launch a direct flight to BRU from Delhi or Mumbai

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

By this time, OO-SFF will be back on ops.

On a side note, there will never be more than 9 l/h flight per day during the S24. To allow to have a back up aircraft for AOG's. In S19 when there were 10 A330's there were 10 l/h flight on day 5. This decision has been taken to avoid cancelling flights ...
