Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Indeed they still didn't got the point that the glorious time aviation is now over. If they can't stand with it maybe they can do another job. Well actually, many did and came back...
Not everywhere.
In Belgium, for sure.
But you can't blame them for their "fight" against poor ...

It was indeed a test flight to renew currency for the pilots, and it stirred up quite some commotion in the area:

737 MAX declared "safe" by EASA.
I'll wait some time to be onboard again (flew twice on it, even a few days after the first crash)...
Little confidence in this sudden turnaround, no doubt caused by economic pressures ... we will have to find out from now on the type of aircraft that operates ...

Funny that quote, Limburg has one of the highest deficits in Belgium, why should they not be held responsible then for their deficits?OO-JFP wrote: 07 Sep 2020, 13:08

Brussels Airlines doesn't fully refund booked tickets to Spain, not even Flex tickets.
I havea Flex ticket Brussels-Malaga r/t from September 8 till September 12.
When I don't fly, it is considered a voluntary annulation, and it will still cost me € 140,00, because technically the fligth is still ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
A refund with tax money is quite ironic seeing that we've all collectively paid for it
Mr Decroo was quite clear in parliament: SN was in negative equity, in other words: virtually bankrupt. It’s the refusal to refund bookings which kept them alive till today and as such it’s only ...

Noteworthy to me is the additional commitment of €100M by Lufthansa, which is IMHO a meaningful sign they indeed do not intend to let go of Brussels Airlines any time soon.

I still don't know why it took so long for the Belgian government to finalize the agreement with Lufthansa. What is on paper now, is what Lufthansa agreed long time ago: "an agreement in line with the agreements in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. An agreement that is good for both parties".
De ...

Well, was Virgin Express not a low cost carrier?
The DNA of Brussels was never the one of a full service airline.
So we have two positions that are not compatible.
The problem is two-fold and well stated in the above two posts:
The “hybrid formula” has never worked. SN was too expensive for ...

" ... it will postpone the extension of its flight schedule in August, due to its worsening financial situation ."
Why cancel the flights if you have passengers paying for it?
Say 3 (additional) A330s, flying each 5x2 flights in one week = 30 segments.
7000 Pax : 30 = 233 Pax/flight. Not a bad ...
